I just hope the American TV networks actually show some of the boxing but I fear they won't show much if an American isn't in it or domainating it.

They might be doing a lot more this year hopefully, with webcasts and apparently, this morning Team USA was on NBC's Today show. Shawn Estrada showed the guys how to stand and throw a punch, I hear.

So is the case for every fucking event.
If an American isnt favored to win gold they wont show it and when they do they usually dont show the rest of the competitors doing there thing.
Always HATED the coverage of the Olympics in the US.

ABC and ESPN will be grinding their teeth in anger this time because it looks like the Russians are going to clean up!

They probably will in most weight classes. They'll have a few good stories to report with Rau'shee ******, Demetrius Andrade, and Deontay Wilder's story about why he started boxing. I can see that one being reported on.

True. I think Rau'shee ******'s our only sure thing this year.

Boo Boo is pretty sure too. His route is probably actually easier than Rau'shee's, the Russian 152 is from what I remember their weakest team member. And we still need to hear about the situations with Luis Yanez and Michael Hunter.

Yeah, Ali qualified. And Teddy Atlas is full of horseshit, he loves the sound of his own voice. "Straight punches" are about all you'll see from top level amateurs because they score better and cleaner, the looping punches Atlas loves to go on about gets your ass countered. The only place you see that shit is in the juniors and in novices most the time. It's just Teddy loving the sound of his own voice, as per usual.

:happy Today starting
Korobov fights Naim Terbunja tomorrow, I bet Artani is crying right now.
Korobov beat Terbunja and will meet Bakhtiyar Artayev next, so it's early good bye for one medal favourite, probably Artayev. The AIBA drawing system sucks.
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
Yeah, wasn't really Korobov at his best yet. Although he still nearly always countered Terbunja with some nice counters when the Albanian tried to land one of those lumbering wide shots which made him almost lose balance, I've seen better from him. But Artayev had some difficulties with his Maroccan opponent as well at the beginning, it was 2-2 after 2 rounds. He scored a very nice knockdown in the 3rd though. But Middleweight isn't really his best weight class, to bad for him they abolished Light Middleweight.

Great fight by Korobov. Of course, he is best amateur middleweight fighter in the world. Terbunja show good fights and took many points. The final results was 16:8 for Korobov.
I will talk with Terbunja and will tell you what he will do in this year, profesional with Universum Box Promotion or will fight in the Europian Amateur championship in Liverpool, England nad after to join in German team.
It was 18:6 for Korobov. Why would Universum be interested in Terbunja? I don't see it, after the Olympics there will be much better prospects available that that guy who hasn't done anything.
Korobov just lost to Artayev. :patsch

Same here. All my predictions are out the window.
I'm seriously wondering if the judges don't have it in for the Russians.

I was talking to a friend last night. The judges not only have it in for the Russian team, they're giving it to them up the ass.

I hate sounding like a conspiracy theorist or something but I believe this one. They have got to do something about the judging or lose all credibilty.

I was talking with people about it on another site; this judging has been awful. I hate sounding like a conspiracy theorist but it's like unless they have to they're not going against Chinese "boxers" and are trying to remove other country's biggest threats against them; especially Russia.

Michael Phelps has already won 7 gold medals.:good What dope is he on?:huh Tomorrow Mark Spitz can kiss his his record goodbye...

I don't think Phelps is doping. I read an article on him and how many different attributes he has than a normal person.

:rofl:rofl Look at his ears and fingers. Do they look normal to you? To my knowledge, that kind of things are sideeffecs frome steroids.

He also has size 14 feet and 6'7 wingspan. And he's also only 185lbs at 6'4. He's not exactly the juicing type of frame you would expect. He just has some bizarre proportions.

08-16-2008, 01:54 PM
Ok. How do you explain his weird ears?

Do you really think, that an athlete can win 13 gold medals without dope these days? How many did Marion Jones win - 5? She did plead guilty, correct?
Kolya
08-16-2008, 02:03 PM
Yeah, she did. I honestly don't know if Phelps is doping or not. Either way; if you assume he is and everyone else is; they're still on an even field and he's dominating everyone in front of him.
Nikoliton
08-16-2008, 02:05 PM
'Cause he's got the best dope.

Are you American? I don't think so, your nick is giving you out. By the USA is taking up it's asshole right now. China is dominating.
Kolya
08-16-2008, 02:35 PM
I live in Montana man. And China is dominating because they're in Beijing and those Chinese motherfuckers are getting gifts all over the place. Fucking boxing has been a disgrace with what they've given to China.
WTF?!?! What happened? jesus, either the Russian team is making me look like an idiot or these judges are making me look like an idiot.
Well, it was a close fight and Korobov certainly wasn't at his best but Artevey really wasn't any better. Close decision just don't go the Russians way in this tournament. I guess the situation surrounding the Russian team is having it's effects, I imagine they are really on the edge because of the dubious events goning against them.
I don't think Phelps is doping. I read an article on him and how many different attributes he has than a normal person.
Well, they have to find some kind explanations for his performances, I mean he makes generations of athletes look like chumps. It's always the same procedure, "This guy is so talented, naturally gifted and works so hard, he is just special" and a few years later when the stuff is detectable or something/someone leaks information the truth comes to surface. There is an universal truth for this: If something is too perfect to be real it usually isn't real. I mean I don't doubt that he is very talented because you're not that good just because of illegal substances but I don't beleive that's the whole story.

With Phelps they found that his knees are double jointed, his ankles have a 15 degree greater range of motion than a normal person, and his body can remove lactic acid like it's going out of style.
Either way, these judges have been giving it to Russia up the ass in this tournament.

Did anyone see Sapiyev against Boonjumnong? Imo another major robbery in my eyes, no way Sapiyev lost that. The Thai was holding and running all the time and the scoring was horrible, really frustrating and it doesn't get any better.

Andrade won a lot more than that, Artani. He was National Champion, National GG champion, a whole lot of awards in the USA.
