Ricky Hatton admits he would love to step in the ring with 'modern day legend' Oscar De La Hoya.

The Mexican 'Golden Boy' is interested in facing Hatton and the Manchester fighter told the Mirror: 'It would be an honour to share the ring with Oscar.

'It's the sort of fight that secures your legacy. If Floyd won't fight me maybe Oscar would. He's never dodged anybody'.

Exactly, and Hatton and his camp must know this too.
If he couldnt deal with Collazo, how the fcuk could he deal with DLH.
I think DLH would knock Hatton out.

that's the whole point HBO needs oscar to get a big ko against an inferior opponent to get his standing back up:lol: hatton would get crushed by oscar so HBO wants the fight. This all could be a ruse to help hatton in negotiations with floyd since we know oscar won't be fighting again till may2008.

Is it me or does oscar need to retire:hat

floyd would also crush hatton, either way its a lose lose situation for hatton.

we all know this, but oscar is trying to play his hand. he knows that in may 2008 he will rematch floyd, there is no bigger fight out there for him. But he promised shane a fight with floyd so he is trying to force floyd to face shane in nov instead of hatton. If floyd fights hatton then shane will not get his chance since oscar will hype a rematch over six months. So oscar is just trying to stop a hatton floyd fight by saying yeah I'll fight hatton at 147 eventhough he can't make the weight.

Floyd is difficult for both guys which doesn't result in an entertaining fight ..I would prefer Hatton/Delahoya because it has fire works written all over it ..

a loss to oscar or pbf wouldn't hurt hattons reputation, "he lost to a bigger guy" or "he lost to the p4p no1" is what would be said. however a really good showing or a small chance of a win and he's laughing. it's a win win situation for hatton and the small matter of maybe a $10mill+ purse should help too.

get real you mean mismatch written all over it:lol: hatton with his 5'6 66 inch reach is going to be able to fight a 5'11 71 inch reach hoya. I want to see a competitive fight not this crap. it would be less entertaining then the gatti fight hoya had where he dwarfed him:deal

DLH would destroy Hatton easy...i'm not as interested in that fight as a PBF/Hatton fight...

:good well said. Oscar is waaaay to big for Hatton. And Floyd is just flat out better, so he might walk away with more money fighting Oscar. But a 1 is going to pop up in the L column either way

looks like Floyd called PBF bluff.....

PBF dont want his ribs cracked like Castillo's

Hatton left hook to the body KO. But then Hatton would just be beating another over the hill fighter.

Oscar maybe to big for hatton, but He will be bigger on the night if he fought floyd. Yes I am an Hatton fan, even though PBF does have superior skills than hatton, apart from castillo and to a certain extent Oscar as PBF ever been pressured for Three minutes around every round. I hope PBF body is firm because he does not want Four ribs to be broken like castillo. I will probably get slagged of for this reply but I think hatton as gotta chance with PBF, because unlike Collazo, PBF is not a natural welterweight and for that fight hatton only had five weeks to train for the fight because he was to fight at JW!

ODH would be a boxing joke for fighting hatton after tussling with middleweights and coming back down to pick on little guys..lol This is a golden boy ploy..ODH wants Floyd again...There will be a part 2 and the people will pay again...lol maybe not as much but shit..even half is a success..lol. Or it is ODH way of getting floyd in the ring with Shane his buddy.. I can see Shane being like Oscar...we need to do something and Oscar being the Batman..of the camp..lol..saying no problem Robin(shane) ..i will use my bat money and HBO pull to swingle this swingler...and you will get your shot..lol Shane fighting floyd would be a huge money fight for shane.. at least 7-8 mill

But it would have been ok for Floyd to fight Hatton w/ a similar reach advantage as Oscar and about 2 inches taller huh ??:patsch

I think it would be an awesome fight...if both guys were the same size. DLH is a full fledged 5'10 Jr. Middleweight who can shrink down to Welterweight while Hatton is a 5'6 Jr. Welter who simply can't carry an extra 7 pounds on his frame and be effective.

Seriously, the bottomline to this enitre fight is that it is gonna generate Mega-Godzilla-size big bucks.

Floyd needs to focus on trying to make a fight with some of the REAL comp that he has right in front of his face. He's not even undisputed but yet he acts likes he too good to fight these guys. Cotto, Mosley, Williams, Margarito and Cintron, 2 or 3 of these guys will whip his ass and he knows it.

Nobody in that list whoops his ass lol..you cant whip a boxer like thats ass. it aint going to happen. He is too versatile. Mosley or cotto could possibly get a descision..Cintron is the only KO threat...b/c of his one punch power..Margarito..lol dont get me started. You dont lose to Paul Williams and then say you can stop mayweather...it dont work like that..lol...Pure hater you are..

Like I said earlier on in my post hatton will be able to carry the extra 7 pounds because is training camp will be geared up from day one to fight at 147! Don't let the collazxo fight fool you!

If Hatton moves up to Light Middleweight for this fight then he gets knocked OUT against Oscar, no way does Hatton beat Oscar in my opinion nor does he have the power to trouble him.

I've been reading that Oscar won't fight till 08. If he and Hatton want to fight I'm sure it's conditioned on Hatton staying unbeaten till then.

That said - I'm not sure what happened between Floyd and Hatton. This fight almost seemed like a certainty. Is Floyd retired again?

no one really knows, but a fight with mayweather in november and dlh maybe next year is possible. i don't think a loss to mayweather (if hatton had a good showing) would affect hatton-dlh fight.

If Hatton takes a fight with DLH over Mayweather I will be fucking pissed at Hatton, and pissed at DLH for even putting the fucking idea in his head, and ruining the best possible matchup.

i hope Hatton's camp are not seriously considering this.De la Hoya's a bona fide light middle/middle,way too big for Hatton.Putting Hatton in with him is equivalent to putting Hoya or shane Mosely in with guys like Taylor,Pavlik or Calzaghe.Hoya's some piece of work calling out the little guys like this.
