your thoughts on dr steelhammer??.
By far the best heavyweight in the world today. A great puncher, great skills, ramrod jab, improving confidence. I would favor him over anybody in the division.
do you think he will go to the IBHOF?
As long as he doesn't get stopped any time soon and is able to unify 3 or 4 belts in the division.
which heavyweight fighter you think he should face next?
Everybody is real busy at the moment, so I say Evander Holyfield or even Nicolay Valuev. I don't want to see Klitschko-Rahman unless Rahman can show us fans a better performance than he did against Sykes against a quality opponent

i would love to see either holyfield or rahman, or even better against maskaev.

All of the fights you listed would be good fights to watch and in all of them, I would bet on a Wlad stoppage

Rematch with Peter. Lots say that Peter has improved as well, ...so let's find out
Would be good, but Peter probably don't risk his fight with Rahman

-Best current heavyweight
-Probably, he just needs a few more big fights
-Since he'll just be killing time until he gets a unification opp., he might as well get a rematch with Sanders

who cares abput the other straps, everyone knows the #1 (wladimir) and #2 (peter) have a box-off the winner will be the undisputed and thats what we need right now.
Yes he will make it to the IBHOF, I don't see anyone out there that can beat him, no one. Maybe Peter has a good chance but to be honest I don't think he will be able to trouble Klitschko like he did the first time nor can I see him take the same bombs for 12 full rounds.
He will not make it into the hall of fame. He is not a great heavyweight. Is he currently number 1 in the World? Probabaly, but nobody cares. He is the best of a very poor bunch. i also dont think he has the all round ability to go on to dominate this mediocre division. Fact is anyone can beat anyone it nowadays, and Wlad is very beatable.
The division is still in limbo and we are still waiting for that one big name like Tyson to break through or even half a dozen big names like we had in the early 90s to show up.
I have faith though and the olympics are not far away, maybe something with talent and a KO punch will come out of that!

Will Wlad make it to the Hall? Maybe. Depends who else he fights. Winning the Ring title would help. At this point, that means beating Sam Peter in a rematch. Then if he beats the Chagaev-Ibragimov winner, and whichever upcoming prospect turns out to be the real deal (Povetkin, Chambers, Arreola, Dimitrenko, etc). Then I think we can talk about the IBOF.
He has HOF talent, the question is, can he maintain that talent long enough to put together a HOF-worthy run?

Wladimir is very good. Yes he is the best right now. Yes, he would be competetive in any era (but not top dog).
He has great power, great speed, good accuracy, good range/distancing, good ring generalship, great jab and hook. He also appears to be learning to address his weaknesses.
He has mediocre chin and can be mentally fragile. His stamina isn't perfect. These are the weaknesses that he has been addressing but are the key to beating him.
I like him because he seems to be a nice guy and his fights tend to be exciting. I don't like his new style as much with the extra clinching (allthough that hasn't been the case in the last 2 fights) His recent performances were entertaining, destroying Brock with just his left hand and destroying Brewster with just his jab. He also seems to be making an effort to fight tough fighters with a variety of different challenging styles.
I think he will go to the HOF mostly because I expect him to keep winning for a while. If he retired now then he would be unlikely to make the cut.
The fights I most want to see him take are unification fights. Failing that, fighting Rahman or Valuev would be ok, with Sanders being another alternative.

Vitaly Klitschko is far better.
WK may be KO'ed again by someone with a little bit of ambition, speed, and power.
Heavyweight is poor at the moment, he's probably top of a bad bunch.
Ask anyone in the highstreet who is the heavyweight champ? They probably won't be able to tell you! :rofl

I'd obviously like to see him fight another titleholder, but that is not a possiblity, it seems.
So rematching Sanders would be a good move, seeing as how the crop of available fighters is rather limited.
I don't think rematching Peter is as high of a priority as some of the rest of you do. Wlad would probably beat him even more decisively this time. Peter has been beaten well enough to not see the need to fight him again, at least not til Peter has beaten some other good names, first.

He is modest, hardworking, decent and doesn't give up. Still trying to acheive his goals. No-one can take those things away. He has also made some good decisions (ie going to Kronk).
If he works hard enough can be a hall of famer.
Maybe the defeats were a blessing in disguise?
I would really like him to fight Sanders again to see how he copes.

I cannot stand the name "Dr. Steelhammer" ... that's just soooo gay.
How about Dr. Dick?
Two weeknesses...
1. Questionable chin
2. Cannot handle hard pressure
Seriously, Wlad is one of the top 3 best heavies out there. I believe that his brother Vitaly is also up there.
I'd like to see him eventually fight Golota.
P.S. I don't care for the "BOSS" outfit either. It's too flamboyant and it's not a name for the sport of boxing. What's next, Prada?

Yeah.. he's easily beatable if you KNOCK HIM OUT.. but thats the same for anyone.

He seems like a nce man. I've only read a couple of his interviews and he always came across polite and well spoken. Unfortunately that dosen't seem to go down too well in the states. Popularity does hels fighters get into IBHOF.
I still think he can dominate the division for several years to come though. Peter has good chance of beating him. More so than most. What could really count against Wlad in the end though, is if for a few years, he is a Heavyweight champion along with his brother. That would ruin both of them when it comes to the ATG list.

If you can't bang him out, you've already lost. I cannot see him being outBOXED by anyone, even previous greats. However, if you've got some decent power and a good chin, you can beat him.
Muhammad Ali, Larry Holmes, Joe Louis, Lennox Lewis???

Wlad is good but has not attempted to become un-disputed champion. He has no intention of unifying anything and will continue to steam roll washed up guys like Brewster, Holyfield, hell even Calvin Brock was a joke. The only half way decent fight he took more recently was with Peter. I would like to see him put his belt up for grabs against the Chagaev/Ibragimov winner. Fuck the mandatories, who cares how many belts get dropped it would be a true champion. I think we can all agree the WBC belt is about as legitamte and meaningful as the NABO title these days.

He must unify at least 2 belts IMO.
which heavyweight fighter you think he should face next?
Holyfield or Sanders, since all the other beltholders have matches scheduled already. Valuev would be an okay choice if the other fights can't be made.

I'm tired of hearing that he needs to beat Peter again since Peter has enough on his plate with his scheduled title match vs. Maskaev & likely first defense against Vitali if he even makes it that far.
There you go! :good

It's amazing how KObyBriggs can give so much credit to a steriod ridden, no stamina, 3 punches a round fighter like Briggs and give absolutely no credit to the current best HW. Don't try to save him, he's lost in space.

I am being honest Brock is not that good, other than that I am saying Wlad needs to make unification happen even if it means belts must be dropped. Atleast then we would really have a champion.
He is looking at some awful opponents right now....
Holyfield
Sanders...... What year is this???? This is not hate, he needs to face someone good Tony Thompson, Sergei Liakovich, Valuev, Briggs( I would still like to see it)
He should face a fighter who is either a contender, or recently held a belt if he cannot face another belt holder.
Wlad is the best right now but he does not take the fights that would prove the most. Beating up old man Sanders would show what at this point? Why doesnt he just challange Ross Purrity instead its no different......

Shannon briggs entire career has been knocking out tomato cans and waiting for title shots. by the way, he got completely outclassed by Ibragimov.I`m the one getting accused of hate........wow you guys are the haters. I hope Klitschko does fight Briggs instead of Sanders but thats another story. Do you really think Sanders is a legitamate fight for him to take? many accused Briggs of fighting washed up Ray Mercer for example. What si the difference here?

Wlad, I hate his fucking nut hugging bitchy ass fans, always comming up with some BS to explain why he lost, yet when he beats someone they cant take any excuse from anybody.
But he is a good fighter you cant knock what he is doing, I think if he keeps at this rate and fights smart rather than crazy as he has in the past he will be in the HOF

Brock was an undefeated top contender when Wlad KO'd him.
Brewster recently held a belt for a few defenses...............
Briggs is shot to shit anyway. What would a victory over Shannon be worth after he was so easily outpointed by Ibragimov, who himself had a draw vs. Austin, who Wlad decimated with his left hand alone?

You clearly said that you'd like to see Wlad vs. Shannon & that Sanders & Holyfield were bums................
PS:
I know you meant the current versions and not them at their primes. Evander looked impressive beating up Savarese and Sanders has notched 2 decent wins, one even with an injury.
Briggs is coming off 2 shitty performances, one in which I believe he got lucky & the other wasn't so lucky for him. He needs to retire.

I never said Briggs has been at his best, last time he lsot he dropped some weight and came back in the 250's thats where he needs to be so i am hoping that version would fight Klitschko. Weather he looked terrible in his last fight or not he did not get KO'd or anything so I still think with a higher work rate (losing 20lbs.) Briggs would still be a top HW.
