Sad news indeed,My thoughts go to his family.
As a fighter Oyabola was secondary...until his right hand landed...
A million dollar puncher with a 50 cent chin.Is probably the best way to describe him.
Had these guys attacked him with fists only the outcome would have been very different....

Sad story though, I really hope he makes it...

It makes you fucking sick. Little bastards feeling like big men because they have a gun.

What the fuck is wrong with people, all this bullshit about disrespect - they don't know the meaning of the concept of respect, which is fuck all to do with "dissing" people.

Little bastards.

maybe by London's standards.....but in the grand scheme of things in the big wide world it IS rough. I lived around there for a while and there were still a lot of muggings or worse.

James was a great man, he ruled the amateur scene at superheavyweight for years and when he turned pro he was a pure banger who occasionally was let down by his chin, He was amazingly well conditionned. James was not even the bouncer at the club, he was purely a friend of the owner, he politey asked the men to stop smoking because it is (ILLIGAL) For that he lies brain dead in intensive care with a wife and two kids at home.. He is within an inch of his life after being shot at point blank in the face and in the leg.. For asking some guys not to smoke please !!!!! James was british heavyweight champion for a short time in 1994 after beating Scott Welsh ... He was a very nice man.. Unfortunately he is not expected to live through the night..

No, he was visiting the owner of the bar for a drink and the staff could not get these guys to put their cigs out, so he apparently went over and said "Listen it is illegal just smoke outside".

When he came outside one pulled a gun and let off a few shots.

In the grand scheme of things in the world it is FAR from rough. It is not even as rough as where I live in Shepherds Bush/White City and I do not think it is rough here at all.

Now in the rough parts of Britain (Salford where you lived being one) I would admit it was fucking nasty but even then in the grand scheme when you take into account the rough parts of Africa, South America, Asia and even the USA it is fuck all.

Similar sort of thing happened in my local last night - turned into a ruk with the regulars defending the guvnor's wife against a few 'geezers' who thought they could smoke inside the door cos it was raining ..This smoking thing will take a while to settle down...No one got shot last night - but one bloke got stabbed - and then he was dealt with in the same breath :verysad Glad i went home after two - got the result this evening.

I thought something similar was going to happen the other day...our pub has a couple of QPR hooligans who have been involved in all sorts for a long time. One is an alright guy, big knife scars on his face and loud, but okay. His mate is a total cunt, proper bully who seems to enjoy intimidating anyone he can and he is about 6ft 6".

Both are in their early 40's and the big one came in with about 4 lads who must have been in their early to mid 20's, all pretty built and the usual loud mouths making couples and old people near by feel nervous.

They sparked up in the pub and were told once to go outside. They said "Oh yeah yeah shit". Two minutes later a different one in the group sparks up again and as the manager goes over to tell him he just nods and carrys on smoking.

I was waiting for it to go off, but it didn't and acting like smug little pricks they eventually stubbed them out and left a pint later.

What is it with some people and looking to be a cunt for no reason?

People act likes cunts imo because there is this respect thing going on everywhere - even driving a car some people think they have to be given right of way etc cos they look menacing :blood - if you treat them like any other memeber of the community they feel disrespected and their poor little egos are dented.

Yeah mate...of course most people shoot other people dead for asking them to smoke outside. You are a good bloke but it is pretty fucking lame to try and score points for your beef with the smoking ban over the fact that a guy is probably going to die from some little cunts shooting him.

Lets be honest, do you think the three lads went and got a gun and carried it on nights out just in case someone tried to stop their freedom and make them observe the smoking ban?

It is my personal freedom to sniff coke if I want, thus I am sure you would fully understand if I decided to shoot the next bar manager who asked me to leave when I racked up a line on the bar top?

Pretty much every country is adopting it now , it's been in Ireland a few years .

A lot of smokers didn't like it at first(I'm going to assume you're someone in the same position) but now most people(even smokers) are happy with the ban , except when it's pissing rain but they still know it's there for good reasons .

Is it fair that workers have to put up with second hand smoke ? , is it not their freedom to work in a safe enviroment ?

And finally can you really justify what these people did based on them not being able to put a little bit of paper and tobacco in their mouth while inside ?

Of course I can't justify shooting someone because they asked you to stop smoking!! Nor would I even attempt to. That is not the point. What I'm saying is that this sort of thing is the thin end of the wedge and once daft laws are made which are ill thought out, you get problems. It happens every time. Let's just hope James pulls through.

You'll come round to the smoking ban , as I said it came in here years ago and at first I thought it would never stick . But people just got used to it and realised it's for the best .

For god sake.... it is not an unreasonable law.....passive smoking kills.... i smoke but I know its not an unreasonable reques. What about peoples personal freedom to go to the pub and not stink of smoke. Its a bad habit and the government shouldnt encourage it.

I don't smoke so it doesn't affect me personally. Furthermore, there's nothing wrong with owners or managers of any premises banning smoking(or any other activity for that matter) The problem I have is with the Nanny State removing that freedom from individuals to make their own choice.

Haven't heard anything about James today. I'm sure everyone is keeping their fingers crossed for good news and hopefully his attackers will be caught.

A tragic event, and another example of life in the UK and London in particular.
What people are missing here is that the smoking issue is irrelevant. These fuckers would have shot him if he had asked them to leave at closing time, or to stop swearing. They must have been out looking for trouble, carrying a gun, and blatantly smoking in order to start a confrontation. This country is FUCKED, I was born and bred in london and I dont recognise the place anymore. By all accounts james was a good man, a boxer which in itself deserves respect, and worked hard to show the youths a different way through boxing.

How ironic that it was the same type of little fucker he was trying to help that ends up murdering him. I hope the police dont catch them, I hope instead james's connections find them first and deal with them. What are they going to get? what sentence is going to bring james back? look at the little scumbag who stabbed kyian prince. Life in prison? with a minimum term of 13 years???? so he will be 30 when he gets out, and kyian is dead!!

Im fucking sick of london, badmen everywhere bouncing around with their jeans hanging down, giving people dirty looks, talking in their chav patois, "u git me"? acting like gangsters. Talking about "yeh, i have to hustle on street because I dont get no jobs or opportunites etc. Its all bollocks. Young people have twenty times more chances then people of my age did back in the 1980's. Too much of an MTV culture, seeing all these rappers with big cars and bling, and acting like gangsters. Its fucking pathetic. The laugh is, take away their guns or knives and have it with fists and they fucking shit themselves. The worst part is, these "youts" are the adults of tomorrow, thick as shit ruthless little cunts. What a thought!!

I dont give a FUCK about IRAQ, or terrorists. The government need to deal with these little scumbags, the ones who affect normal everyday people..sorry this is a rant, but I was so upset to hear about james oyebola and my heart goes out to his family and friends.

I have just read this on the official website of the club where james was murdered. what a fucking joke..

"Due to the unfortunate incident that happened recently, please be advised that chateau 6 will re open as of Friday 27th of July. We apologise for any inconvenience our recent closure may have caused to our customers, but rest assured, we will be trading as normal as soon as possible"

For any queries relating to your up and coming parties or general enquires, please email [Only registered and activated users can see links].

To describe james's murder as an "unfortnate incident' and to apologise to customers for the inconvenience is disgusting. Not a mention of what actually happened, no message of sympathy for his family, but they make sure to mention up and coming parties etc. Money grabbing insensitve scumbags.

Funny you should say that my man, cos I am always courteous to any people I meet, bar staff, people working behind the till at my local ASDA etc, I always have a please & a thankyou for them. My mother brought me up to have good manners.

However, a few years go I went into a pub with my missus for a pub lunch, & I put in my order, & asked for drinks too, & while I was waiting some big fat cunt who thought he was hard tried to mock me right after I was served by asking for a pint & saying Pleeasse & Thankssss to the barman an exaggerated manner as if he was taking the cunt. I wasnt going to get involved with him & his pals though, cos the way I look at it, if some cunt mocks you for having good manners they have obviously had a shit upbringing. In my book, being tough isnt about being an ignorant prick who has no common decency.

The world is getting worse, when manners are frowned upon by the youth of today.

I agree but the weird thing is that even most of the nasty cunts back home are generally okay with bar staff. Saying cheers mate etc is just the total norm in Britain.
And everyone knows I am about as anti racist as it gets, but honestly this being rude to bar staff thing is pretty much only black guys. It sounds bad and trust me plenty of black guys who come into the pubs are safe as fuck, but over the course of 3 years in two pubs in NW10 my mates say that 90% of the customers who wont say please or thankyou are black guys and by the way one of those mates is black.

It is the same "disrespect" culture in the ghetto areas....it is almost like being rude is making a point, fuck knows what the point is, but it is a total contrast to the old Jamaican guys who come in and are cheerful as fuck, often buy you a drink too.
