not had sky for too long and tonights card is the last of the ffn season. does anyone know when it is back on cos im going to miss my weekly fix.

i know, stupid isnt it, they stop me cancelling sky sports when the footies finished by showing ffn, when the footie is back they stop ffn. i hope rupert murdoch is enjoying my money the robbing bastard.

its usually back on in september. august is the only boxing free month, and even then you can watch the amateurs at the olympics :good

Most of Europe have It In the Amateurs for 6 weeks usually, except for a major event.
America don't though.

Just a guess, but I bet it's a Sky thing rather than BBBoC thing. Sky probably do it for scheduling reasons or something.

I can't give a reference because I can't put my hand on the book at the moment but fighting seasons have been around for at least a couple of hundred years when most organised fights took place in travelling, county and game fairs. The fair season was between October and August, with September off for the harvest, hence the season break. I will have a look tommorrow for the book in question so I can give a definitive reference.
