I think Forrest is shot at this point. He'll try and keep Baldomir at distance, but I think Baldo's pressure will negate what power Vernon has left and allow Baldo to outwork him down the stretch for the win.

I really think that Baldo has had his run. Forest UD using his jab and length. He is going to see over the top of Baldos guard and see a huge mountain like dome that he cant miss.

Forrest in an awful affair by MD or SD. Either way, it's not worth the funds put forth by HBO. I like Baldomir as a character, but both of these guys in the ring together? This doesn't deserve any attention.

I think Baldomir wears Forrest down, and either stops him late, or wind a decision.

Exactly, Tata won't be able to succeed where Bazooka failed.

As long as Forrest doesn't re-aggravate his old arm injury during the fight he should win by UD. If he does Baldo is more than capable of beating him.

I am going to go with Baldomir, Forrest has not looked the same since the Mayorga fights and his shoulder problems.

tough to call cause its hard to estimate how forrest will show up for this one. If the odds were 2/1 i would bet on Baldomir. Right now Forrest is a slight favorite

Bingo. I STILL don't get why so many boxing fans give this mediocre, feather-fisted journeyman so much credit for fluke victories over an unprepared Judah and a shot Gatti AFTER Floyd showed just how utterly limited this guy is!! :patsch

Isn't it obvious? Shit, even today, after ALL THE LOSES, people still act like Judah is something great. Judah is a good fighter, but he's beatable and he still is flawed.

How many "Judah KOs Margarito" posts do we still get? That should tell you about the level of knowledge this board is down to.

My boy Vern will get the job done. Still can't believe how he nailed Mosley in that corner their 1st fight. That was a wicked shot!

Forrest by late stoppage due to a cut over his eye caused by a punch, baldomir will be game, but i thinky forrest will open baldy up with 1 of those right hands and as the fight goe's on the cut will get worse, until the ref or his corner stops the fight.

You're smoking crack if you think that feather-fisted journeyman is gonna stop a world class fighter like Forrest. He's lucky to be in same ring with him, getting a payday.

Forrest UD, but it will be a harder fight than expected...mostly because Forrest is clearly not on the same level he was before the injury to his shoulder...

Anyone have a recent shot of Forrest??? I found one of Baldy at the 7 day weigh in, but couldn't find one of Forrest. Want to see what kind of shape Forrest is in.

I think (or hope rather) that Forrest comes expecting a tough fight. This may be Forrest's "last chance" and he knows it may be Baldomir's "last chance" also. Beyond that, they've both had 4 months to prep for this fight so I think they'll come ready.

Forrest easy UD.

Baldomir is way too slow and not skilled enough to win this. Moreover, his huge head you should be an easy target for Vernon.

Laughin. For real...It looks like someone put the wrong head on Baldy's body.

Forrest is being trained by Buddy McGirt, who hopefully will keep Forrest in the boxing mind set and keep him from making the same mistake he did against Mayorga.

damian5000

As of the 19th in Vegas at Bill's (formerly Barbary Coast):

Forrest -140
Baldy +110

I'm probably going heavy on Forrest. I'm still waiting to see a recent picture of Forrest. Can't find one anywhere.

So let me get this right... (to people who are choosing Baldomir). Forrest is quicker, taller, bigger, stronger, has Buddy McGirt as a trainer, has a harder punch, and on top of that is a far better boxer. Is the handicappers and "experts" favorite... but you still think Baldy is going to win because of what... Pressure? He already showed he could hang with Ike. And he's not going to trade with Baldy, he's already let it be known he's content with a decision and won't be going for the knockout.

I need to correct something... I was getting the Forrest / Quartey interview confused with Forrest / Baldomir.

“All I want to do is win — that’s it," he said. “If it goes 10 rounds, to me it’s irrelevant as long as I get the W at the end of it. I know I’m going to put on a great show." ([Only registered and activated users can see links])

I can't imagine he'll go into this with any different mindset and with the same trainer, but didn't want to be spreading misinformation. Got things mixed up in my head with all of my surfing...

Hopeless romantics my ass. Anything is possible in this game and I don't think it's so unbelievable to imagine a very motivated Baldy coming in and wearing Forrest down.

For all the people talking shit about Baldy and being certain that this is an easy fight for Forrest...I have seen next to no comments about the fact that Forrest shouldn't even BE HERE in this fight. Need I say more?

Honest question. Sixteen months ago, would you have had this same 'anything is possible' attitude?

It was a Cinderella story. A solid journeyman came out of nowhere to beat an enigmatic Judah (one equally capable of beating an A+ fighter and losing to a C), and a shot Gatti, and then his carriage was repumpkined.

You're saying Forrest can handle Ike's pressure but not Baldy's? And you think Forrest isn't as motivated as Baldomir? I say the motivation is equal.

So you have: motivation (Baldy) compared to motivation + quicker + taller / bigger / stronger / harder puncher + far better boxer (Forrest) = Baldy has a good chance?
