Pavlik is gonna expose HBO's hype job. No gift decisions this time - Taylor will be out cold on the canvas within five rounds. :nod

Tough to pick a winner here simply because Taylor has fought the better competition but I could see "the Pavlik that beat Miranda" beating the shit outta "the Taylor that should've lost the decision IMO to Spinks"
It's not that Taylor doesn't have the skills, he's faster than Kelly but Kelly has a good chin & nice combos, just too hard to call.
I'll get back to ya' :good

I'm picking Pavlik to win by knockout, but I would have no problem if Taylor won impressively. May the best man win and win decisevely!

I know I am trying to get some close ones. I aint paying no crazy money for Floyd hatton even though Id give my left nut to be there live at that fight. lol. But Taylor/Pavlik will be a great fight and alot less money. I am trying to get some real good seats or I aint going...lol. I aint going to be rubbing shoulders in the birds eye section..lol

it will be close. Both guys have advantages in this fight. I'm going with Taylor based off his close performances versus better competition. He's been on a BIG stage before and Pavlik will not run from him. He'll stand in front of him and fight.
Taylor is going to win and silence Zakman.

I picked Taylor when this fight was first announced. Kinda not so sure anymore..
Taylor will want to use alot of movement and pepper Pavlik with that jab that seems to have disappeared from his arsenal as of late. The one edge Taylor definitely has on Pavlik is handspeed. He has to use that to his advantage.... but you gotta believe Pavlik will use a similar strategy to the one he used against Miranda... pressure him, give him no room... Taylor is not as effective on the inside, and should avoid trading blow for blow with Pavlik, as he'll probably get starched. But something tells me Taylor will want to bang. We should be in for a hell of a fight :bbb

Kelly will dictate this fight. Pavlik has much better technique. Taylor is too wild.
Check out some of these videos & see what I mean. The man downright knows how to fight & how to put people away. Who that Jermain KO'ed lately?

Yeah..you got a point ...but counter point..when has taylor been in the ring with a bum like zertuche..throwing lazy jabs with his back against the ropes. That is like asking to be knocked out..and the other guy was a complete scrub. Kind of hard to knockout bhop/winky/ouma/spinks. One nobody has never been done . the other three only once.

Those guys you mentioned that Taylor has built a reputation on don't impress me against Kelly. He KO's them, too.
Zertuche, my friend, had one SOLID chin. Was never KO'ed. Was never even down in his career, 'til he felt Pavliks power.
We'll see what happens...

Has Taylor ever been tagged and stunned pretty good in the past that anyone knows of? He seems like he would be impossible to catch. And does anyone know if the fight will be PPV?

OMG awesome,,,,,I cant wait for this one! I think im going to put some money on Pavlik but I cant decide if I should throw down on him for the KO or not....? I just cant see Taylor getting caught against the ropes - he has awesome footwork and is very quick. I do believe Pavlik is the superior boxer though. He is just such a natural and makes it look so easy....ambidextrious with amazing power and is actually SMART unlike so many other boxers. Cant help but root for the guy! :good

Good post. Definitely go for the KO/TKO with your bet. Kelly will wear him down & find him. Thats all he does is KO people.
You made some good points about him that others have not. Yeah, he has superior boxing skills over JT, but your comment about him being "a natural" is so true & good that you brought this up. Thats why he's so confident. Did you see him entering the ring before the Miranda fight? He basically jogged to the ring, showing no nerves whatsoever against a formitable foe.
And to compliment his physical skills is his mental game. His SMARTS! He does nothing unnecessary in the ring. Everything has a purpose. He picks his shots beautifully & thats why 28 out of 31 times, he's stopped his man.
This will not change just because Jermain Taylor is standing in front of him.

If I ever went to a pro fight (and I've gone to a few), this would be the one. But I can not believe on that Saturday, 9-29, we will be coming back from our vacation in Maine. No way could I make it to AC that night after driving back from Maine. Oh well, have to watch it at home.
I've thought about looking into switching to the week before to go on vacation. Decisions, decisions...

World class comp. favors Taylor no doubt and there are some slick boxers in that bunch. KASSIM OUMA? Jermain was pushed back by that little man all night! A lot is being made of Jermain's weight and that's where the fight will be won. Pavlik will take some jabs early, but he will get to Taylor's body and wear him down. By the 8th Pavlik will force Taylor to fight off the ropes landing huge bombs. The fight will be stopped in the 10th-Pavlik KO and NEW Middleweight Champ!

Wow, the Taylor hate is immense on this board. It's 3-to-1 for Pavlik on the poll. I think Pavlik has a great chance to win this thing myself, but it seems nobody on this board has any faith in Taylor at all.
What are the odds for this fight? You have to think Taylor is the favorite.. this might be a great fight to make some $$$ on..:nonoits not that anyone hates taylor...just look at his past couple fights did he realy impress you? now look at pavliks last couple fights..sorry but taylor does not impress me at all.. also the deadline was july 14 for taylor to take this fight..he verbily said yes and didnt hear anything until this last monday.finaly gonna sign tonight. it seems to me he might be alittle afraid of the ghost.

Taylor is very nervous about fighting Kelly. You could see it in his face & hear it in his voice after the Spinks fight when pressed to even talk about Pavlik. He wanted to talk about Miranda...the loser that night!
Like I said, all the pressure will be on Jermain. ;)

Ya think all those gift decisions he received might have something to do with it?? Or maybe that he's been fighting light-hitting guys coming up from lower weights - and even struggling with them!!
Taylor is overrated, and fans know it. Pavlik is gonna show just what a hype-job this guy is. :nod

Absolutely, and guess what, surprise surprise, the chin checkers will have another notch on the sword!
Pavlik's going to pay my bills for that month, just like Hopkins did for this month(with these insane inflated prices on everything, I need all the help I can get mate!!!).
