Thats how I would have view it, also the myth of Marciano almost loseing is that just a myth. The Doc who was the only one that could have stop it, said he was not going to stop it, not for a championship fight. He also said it was not intervearing with the Rock's vision. So no need to stop it for that.

Also Rocky outside of the cut only lost 1 mere round on ALL 3 judges score cards out of the 8 rounds. So Rocky was well ahead by the 8th round.
