the first thing I notice, when i get tired, is this weird soreness in my solar plexus.

1) maybe i exhale too hard when punching? (i think i exhale as hard as possible, when going for power shots)

2) are you supposed to exhale from the nose or mouth?

3) what do you guys do? i notice some pros dont exhale as much as other fighters, when it comes to hearing it. for example, Cotto/margarito is quiet, but you can clearly hear roy jones, and juan diaz.

I exhale.
In really hard stuff I do that "SSS" noise through my teeth.
In general I try to keep my mouth shut and breath with the nose.

you dont want to inhale through your nose, I try to exhale through my nose also that way I can keep my jaw clenched

Is it true that when you exhale , you make your punch more powerful?
I was watching fight science and some guy, not really sure of his name, was breaking stacks of tiles. It was said that when you scream you get a rush of adrenaline which cause you to hit a bit harder? maybe the same thing applies to this. I some times do the "SSS" thing as well but I do it more to control my breathing rather than hit hard. I sometimes start to hold my breath when throwing punches so the "SS" thing makes me exhale.

I've had the same problem man. I exhale really hard when I punch. I've noticed when I don't exhale as hard that I don't feel that "fatigue" near my solar plexus. Keep exhaling when you punch, just try and not to tense up that area when doing so.

It's not difficult. Just have to focus on breathing the correct way for a week or so when I'm at boxing practice and it becomes a habit.

i saw the same episode and yea it was amazing that the screaming actually helped and its been proven in a wide range of sports (track and field/shotput/discus/javelin throwers, etc)
