Name a fight where the referee came into play and actually did a good job, for example Mills Lane disqualifing Tyson

Don't remember the ref's name (i should probably check boxrec) for Pavlik/ Zertuche. He dove inbetween them after Kelly had him out on his feet.

That really wasn't a very good moment by Mills.
I hate to kick a man when he's down, but I don't really understand the considerable praise Mills Lane got for this fight.
I'll give him a pass for Holyfield's headbutts (he's very sneaky and clever with them). Maybe even for not doing that much when Tyson tried to twist Holyfield's arm in round 2.
But after the first bite, Lane (correctly) wanted to DQ Tyson. Ratner asked "are you sure?", then he decided to take 2 pts away. Unless there's a video I haven't seen, he never said "one more bite and you're gone", as it has later been claimed. Not that it matters, Tyson should've been out of there after the first bite.
I know it's a huge megafight and no one wants to see it end like that, but let's say Tyson goes on to win the fight, or Holyfield refuses to fight anymore with someone biting his ear.
Can you imagine how messed up it would be if a guy regained a heavyweight world title belt by BITING his opponent's ear?

Nady in RJJ vs Ruiz
Nady in Toney Vs. Holy
Mills Lane in the first Hopkins vs Allen fight when he pushed Bernard out of the ring after a clinch and the fight was ruled a no contest. The look on his face afterwards was really funny. Mills Lane is involved in all the craziest shit.

Didn't he also get Lewis-McCall 2, Bowe-Holyfield 2, and Lewis-Akinwande?
Mills was like a magnet for some of the weirdest HW fights of the 90s.

theres one point in the first hopkins/taylor fight where IMO Nady litereally saved Taylor from being knocked the fuck out as Hopkins had Taylor completely turned aroudn and was about to lay his ass out with a right hand that would have probably been illegal but Nady stuck his hand up and grabbed it. it was during one of Hopkins late round rallys. No oen raelly saw that i guess but to this day i think that is the reason why Taylor is where he is today. Thank Nady.

I agree. Lane totally bitched out as far as I'm concerned. When Ratner asked him that question he should have said "damn right, he bit a chunk out of the guy's fucking ear!". Instead he compromised his authority.

The guy in the Robin Reid - Jeff Lacy fight.
Reid throws a low blow. The ref steps in and says 'break', hes right in between the fighters, lacy literally hooks around the refs ahead while Reid has his hands down, the ref then gives Reid an 8 count and then duducts one point from Reid for the low blow. :rofl
Astonishing

He probably figured " Well.. it's a big fight, and Holyfield seems to want to continue.. eh, what the fuck. "
