Hopkins is a big fan of Marvin and i dare say Marvin is showing a little interest back. Surprise surprise when Marv tried to let us know he was number 1 lol

I think DLH invited him to add prestige to the event the way boxing (and wrestling) invited Ali to events.

It was great seeing the Marvelous One. He looked very happy.

Hagler is one of Xs idols. I'm sure Marvin respects what X is doing.

Hagler has been at loads of fights. He was at Lewis Rahman for BBC.

There was once a time in the 1960s where you might go to a fight and find yourself seated alongside a multitude of past, present and future greats; a typical championship fight might house such honourable spectators as Sandy Saddler, Ike Williams, Joey Giardello, Ray Robinson, Joe Louis, Emile Griffith, Harold Johnson, Jake LaMotta, Jack Dempsey and Tommy Loughran. I can't remember offhand, but there was one fight I watched where there was about half of your top forty pound-for-pound introduced before the fight.

I remember those days all the fighters would enter the ring before
the fight started

Those days still exist. Top boxers are at each others fights all the time.

Castillo-Corrales has Chavez Sr, Chavez Jr, Lacy, Wright, Toney and a few others.

If your watching Ali Liston 1, at Ringside you can see Marciano's head. It was harder to pay attention to the fight when I found that out. There was Rocky watching the fight lol. Evey time the camera move with the fighters and it move were you can view the Rock.

Ali jabbed it off on one occassion and Rocky got a bit miffed he thought ali was taking the piss.Rocky made a series of b pictures in and around Cuba when he retired ,playing a tough action hero type in one scene the wind blew away his toupee and he chased it ,finally running it down when it caught in a fence, typical Rocky he gets you in the end!

Hagler looked a lot older than a couple of yrs back when he commented on a british fight..must be about 55?
I would love to see him on the Contender, training a team OPPOSITE Ray !!

I would love that too, although I wouldn't want Hagler to be featured in such a Hollywood style series. I thought The Contender was ridiculous. It would be much better if it was filmed in documentary style - no emotional music, no cheesy scripts, no flashy gymnasiums, no ludicrous prizes - just raw, gritty boxing. I think that's what Hagler would prefer as well.

Contender is ridiculous..which is why Marvin would be great as a guest..Hagler would just RIP UP the script ..cmon, it would be great viewing
