Voluntary defense. Mormeck is ranked number 1 by the EBU but he is not interested (it would have made an exciting fight !)
According to his promoter the defense would be against Roberge (20-7-0 8ko) who is currently ranked 18th by the EBU. Roberge obtained this ranking with his upset victory over the previously undefeated Dettinger. Roberge is fragile and very limited though, Brudov would have been a better option.
If Acaries cannot organize (his last card was cancelled because of €€€ issues) of if the EBU does not sanction the fight another mentionned option was Marco Huck. I don't know if Huck who fought for a world title would be interested in the EBU title !
Brudov would be a good fight for Monrose, as would Huck.
I was wondering if Brudov is ever planning to rematch Virgil Hill, that is his only real loss atm (I had him beating Arslan last time out).

Canal+ does not want to pay. Acaries has no €€€ it's the main problem. He has to pay the purses for the fighters of his MW tournament and he cannot organize on Monrose's name. If Brudov is not completely stupid he will not risk his WBA ranking for free. If he lost against Monrose it would be a very bad point for his career. Acaries gave Girard's title to Sahnoune but it's different with Brudov : he is still in the game ! And I think Brudov would beat Monrose anyway.
Instead Monrose can fight a guy like Roberge cause this guy will fight for free... If he wants a guy like Huck he will have to fight in Germany. Huck would beat Monrose imo. Monrose really likes his sport but it will be difficult for him. Boxing business is almost dead in France and CW div is not a weak div anymore.

Just read it's Monrose vs Huck, sounds like a very good fight and will put the winner at the top.
I'm curious to see Monsore fight.
Any news on Brudov lately?

How would you describe Huck's style exactly ? I watched highlights of his fight against Cunningham but Monrose is the exact opposite of Cunningham so it's difficult to have an opinion...

Which one? Brudov v Arslan? I saw that one on tape...
EDIT: Oh the PM's...no I haven't had time to watch anything lately lol, just posting inbetween reports for my work lol.
I'll look tmrw if it's still up (fingers crossed :D).

Huck has a tight guard and is uber-aggressive. In fact, you can get under his skin and cause him to commit some flagrant fouls if you know a few tricks, like Aurino did.
Good job andy, instead of doing my work I watched your fight (h1tzor, I like that haha).
Thanks alot! :-(
:good

I watched Huck against Tokarev, he is good. Tokarev is very limited in terms of skills though, he let Huck choose the distance, he was so slow to find angles. Huck knows how to use his long reach, he is very agressive but his defense is decent. He can fight in the inside too, It seems he does not know much about lateral moves but against Tokarev it wasn't a problem of course. Huck is better than Monrose. Both are very agressive boxers but Huck has the size of a cruiser and he is more experienced. That said Amrane and Jensen were also superior on the paper...
With his size Monrose has no choice. He has decent skills, he is mobile, he turns and give fast hooks. A bit like Sahnoune who was schooled by the first experienced guy with a good jab he fought.

The Huck option was the good one. Huck vs Monrose is now official. Monrose takes a big risk for a voluntary defense but...fight in Germany = very decent purse ! I think Huck will KO Monrose in a crowd pleasing fight.

I just hope that Huck has learned from his fight against USS Cunningham.

If he could add a jab he could be a champion. Cunningham was a far superior boxer.

To be honest I hadnt though that Huck could beat Tokarev before their fight took place on German soil. Tokarev is a very strong boxer with an iron chin who can bang and whose toughness usually makes opponents quit their strategy after a couple of rounds with him.Huck showed a great performance against Tokarev who is a serious threat to any present cruiser weight. Not really sure whether Huck has his number or not,but he for sure is Huck's most outstanding skalp .
The version of Huck who turned up against Tokarev will surely beat the limited Frenchman quite easily, but the version of Huck who turned up against Cunningham or against Katanic will come up against stiff opposition and may struggle against Monrose.

i ve never seen monrose fight, cant tell how the fight will come out.
huck is limited too and just can come forward. for a versatile boxer like cunningham it was easy to outbox him.
this time,we have a similar situation: huck wants something monrose already has and therefore has to go and get it.
if monrose is cool and can counterpunch, we might have the same outcome

Monrose doesnt play in Cunningham's league, boxexpert!
A lot of people tend to forget that Huck had showed quite a few very convincing performances against decent opposition before he lost to Cunningham in front of his home crowd. He still has to learn one or two things though. However, Monrose isnt the one who will take advantage of Huck's weak spots.

I watched Erdei vs Sahnoune again. The comparison Sahnoune-Monrose can really apply. Both are trained by Lavally, both are very small for their division, both have some power even if they are not true punchers. Sahnoune was schooled by Branco, he did better against Erdei but he was dominated on skills...
About Monrose he has decent names on his record but against Jensen it's biased since the EBU champ was caught cold (the video is easy to find). Against Amrane it was a strange fight. I don't think Amrane really came to lose but he looked as if he was not motivated. A victory against Monrose would have not helped his career. The last round was really amazing, as if Amrane had thought "OK he has the decision but now I have to show I can box". He won the round easily fighting completely differently.

Good comparison there Fitir. Also, cold or hot, he caught Jensen big time, credit where credit is due! :good
Haven't seen that Amrane fight, but it sounds like a good old fix to me, the way you are describing it. A "gentleman's agreement", shall we say.

Also, cold or hot, he caught Jensen big time, credit where credit is due! You're right, it proves at least that Monrose has some power and a good killer instinct. You have to be ready and focused against such a guy. No mental weakness is allowed and even if Huck is in another league the fight has an interest. Monrose stopped Velecky twice for example. Their second fight was introduced as a fight against a journeyman to prepare for the french championship. And it was not stupid : Velecky was overpowered and stopped as a journeyman. But this guy was not a normal journeyman even if looked "fragile" for the cruiser div, he still fights to win.

You are right, fitir! Velecky is tough cookie who enters a ring to win and put up a good show of boxing. Kraj went 10 long and tough rounds with his compatriot
