Haye would get badly embarrassed.

Haye needs guys he can blow out, and he has the ability to blow out a lot of people.
But nobody ever, anywhere could blow out Commander Evander.
He would beat down on Haye after some competitve early rounds.
Holy inside 8.

Whoever anybody says wins i guarantee that most will say Evander because he is the old school guy who they have seen more on TV and prove himself more as a fighter.

Not really unfair but the analysis wavers a bit because most who say Evander don't even take into account what strengths Haye would have in such a fight.:think

I think his stengths however dont trouble Evander.
Evander has one of the best chins of the era and a massive heart, so Haye's power is kind of nullfied by that.
Holy was pretty quick at cruiser, Haye is probably quicker but the gap wouldnt be as clear as in other fights for Haye.
Most importanly Holy was a great 3mins fighter with awesome stamina and back then he fought over 15, I think Haye would have quit in the dressing room if he had to fight a 15 round fight.

I would say a lot more on this board would have seen Haye fights than Holy @ Cruiser.

Prime real deal. evander at cruiser was as big as haye is at cruiser in the ring. But evander's toughness and better pedigree would see him
to victory over the brit.

Evander Holyfield TKO6 David Haye

Haye has the advantage in power, but Holyfield could take a hell of a shot and come back with one of his own. Haye wouldn't be blowing Holyfield out early and would be getting hit more than any fight in his life. David and Evander's stamina would be a big factor as well with Evander clearly having the edge. The Real Deal wears him down and stops him in the mid rounds in a very exciting fight.

Evander was a different animal at cruiserweight. I'd say that you could throw out a bunch of names and he beats them easily. The only fighter I could think of right now who would have given him a problem at cruiserweight would have been Juan Carlos Gomez but even then you gotta imagine Evander would find a way to win.

prime 4 prime, nobody knows David Haye prime yet.
Easy to say this knowing what Evander has accomplished.

I have put together a list of cruisers (then and now) who I feel would beat Holyfield.

Here it is:

Prime Evander would take Haye's best shot, and that most likely means you beat David Haye. Haye would have a good first few rounds but then gas out and get stopped around 9ish i would say.

Holy is the best cruiser ever and beats em all. No point matching him with anyone. Haye has comparable talent but still needs to work on reaching that Holyfield level.

Ding makes this thread to start some hate on David Haye - Get a grip.
I'm Hayes biggest fan, but at this stage Holyfield would win this easily. End of thread

Evander Holyfield beat Dwight Qawi in his 12th fight, and moved up to heavyweight in his 19th fight.

So I dont buy that line that it's unfair to match him with Haye.
Cruiserweight "prime" Holyfield was a novice too !

Haye stepped up fast and got done in by Carl Thompson in his 11th fight - ran out of gas, got stopped.

Holyfield went FIFTEEN rounds with Qawi in his 12th fight.

The comparisons are fair, because Holyfield was a novice. He was just too damn good.

Evander grnds out a late TKO win.

Haye is a solid world title contender at this stage, Evander is considered one of, if not THE best cruiserweight of all time.
