Holyfield and Mercer were not one punch knockout artists. Both needed rounds. Mercer still got his attention enough times to be noticeable.

Tua was far too small and every one of those hooks that landed had no feet under them.

For all the other examples, Klitschko, Briggs, Grant, Rahman - he was wobbled badly or KTFO.

Lennox's chin is fine, the shot that starched him vs. Rahman would've KO'd just about anyone. It's not a chin weakness, it's the fact he let Rahman land it in the first place. He didn't take him seriously & he paid for it. Normally Lewis has a much better defense, that was just a huge mistake vs. a good puncher at exactly the wrong time.

Yes he got kod twice,but both times he made big mistakes that he avenged emphatically and corrected,plus this is heavyweight boxing. Joe louis (many peoples number 1.) got koed by schmelling and got knocked down and hurt by numerous fighters. Marciano got knocked down by a lt heavy in moore. Ali got badly hurt by cruiser cooper,holy got badly hurt by bert cooper and kod clean by bowe,tyson got koed by douglas and holy,need i go on?

Is it possible that there are different types of punch resilience? It seems that Lewis was doing quite well absorbing good shots over several rounds from Mercer , Vitali and others but was vulnerable to single monster shots. Some fighters can absorb the single monster punch but succumb to accumulated pressure.

Those knock outs were down to poor or lazy defence tho, not a poor chin

No heavyweight would have got up from the Rahman knock punch would they ?
