So Cotto will be boxing then rather than fighting, he's got no chance trying to outmaneuvre Wilfredo imo

You think Cotto will Box/Move against Benitez?
Who do you give the power edge to?

No, it's just because youi said Cotto from the Marg fight, he was boxing. On any given night i'd have to pick Wilfredo though, if they're gunna turn in their best performances. Might be wrong?
Cotto has the power edge for me, i think his power is somewhat underrated.

What I ment was, If we replace Margo and insert that Benitez instead..
(So Pre-SRL L, Pre-Margarito L version Vs.)
Yeah, I'm torn between who has the power edge.

Oh i get you, do you have a pick yourself? You see, imo Cotto CAN box, but he is not a great boxer, he has always taken too many shots in that mode, and his defence is not very good at all. He is so much more effective when he goes on the front foot and is after his man, he's so strong and i think it might be a case of a good offense being a good defense when he employs that style. So on that note, i dont see him outboxing the Radar, and when people came at Benitez in his prime he was slippery as an eel and would most likely do it on poiints.. That's my take anyhow. But Im confident the power edge goes to Cotto though.

A formality IMO.
Cotto a solid fighter with no real outstanding attributes against one of the best pure-boxers and counterpunchers of all-time.
Benitez could be lazy, but he won't lose this.

A focused and prepared Benitez (I really don't know if either of those things apply to the Benitez of the SRL fight) would just be too slick for Miguel. I give the one punch power edge slightly to Wilfred as well, Cotto is typically the kind of guy who wears you down, he doesn't usually just flatten guys with one shot like Wilfred did against Hope at 154lbs. I say he has the better chin as well.
What does favor Cotto is that Benitez wasn't all that great of a mover, he had unbelievable reflexes and supreme defensive skills of every order, but he typically was flat-footed, so Miguel could land some bodyshots. I still go with Benitez, probably leading by 2 or 3 points before he takes Cotto out in the late rounds. If it's 12 Cotto could go the distance, but I say Benitez stops him in 15.

Thats because he's always pitted in MM's with guys like Hearns, Duran, Benitez, Curry, Leonard ect..... guys who anybody with a brain would say Cotto has no chance with.
Cotto was a very good fighter, but theres ALOT of welterweights in history that beat him. Thats just a fact.

Benitez could be lazy and Cottos high workrate sees him win a good few rounds in this 1 but benitez's skill and defense see him win a clear UD
How about Cotto-Palomino
Palomino too strong, durable, offensively efficient and well-rounded imo.Would probably be similar to Stracey palomino.A sustained beatdown where Cotto has his moments and lands a good amount of punches, but never really looks like winning and eventually gets brutalised.
