If they've fought in the last 2 years or so, they're on this list...all of these guys are also 35+ or will turn 35 this year. If you hear of any solid news about anyone else coming back, such as the vague rumours about Buster Douglas, gimme a link and then I can add them on this list. Any confirmation about Tua's next fight would be great too. This is in chronological order, pro boxing fights only.

Riddick Bowe?!

Great work Damon - you've provided an excellent summary of the HW "Seniors Tour." Frankly, I think that it would be a good idea to establish some kind of Seniors' Division, with its own titles and everything, to keep these guys from serving as cannon fodder for young up and comers.

Although, I do have some mixed feelings about that, as it could prevent spectacular upsets for the post-40 crowd. And, as someone who has passed that landmark, I have something of a rooting interest in guys from my generation!

Thank you.

I left Bowe on the list, even though he last fought 2 years 2 months ago, because he's possibly daft enough to have another fight even with what happened against Zumbrun. If I haven't heard anything in the next few months, I'll take him off.

How about Vitali Klitschko? Last fought December 2004, next fight Sept. 22, 2007...

This is pretty fucking sweet. I didn't know that Michael Grant was fighting Billy Zumbrun. That could prove to be very interesting. Great work man.

Where did you find the info on Manuel Quezada being Tuas next opponent? Hopefully its true! But its been too long since his last fight!

Nice work tho! Interesting to see Seldon at it again

I hear Tim Witherspoon is coming back, but he doesn't have any fights scheduled.

Damn, of course you're right...I'll add him on!

The Tuaman - there was a thread here about it. I haven't heard any confirmation yet though.

I heard about Witherspoon too, as soon as we hear about a fight I'll put it up there.

My plan is just to keep this thread updated, so if anyone suddenly wakes up in a blind panic in the night screaming "I must know when Michael Moorer is fighting next!!!"...they might find it here.

Yeah he was trying to start his come back over here in England but the British Boxing Board of Control denied him a licence, i heard he was going to appeal.

Updated the list with some more 'old timers'...Byrd, Sanders and McCline (since they've all fought recently), and Ruiz because he's rumoured/threatened to come back soon.

And now Bowe is back on the 'fight sceduled' list...

Okay now...Grant adds to his win column with a TKO5 over Zumbrun, so he shuffles into the 'waiting for a fight date' group.

Next up, the Night of the Living Dead (or at least Saturday of the Living Dead), as Savarese, Holyfield, Donald and Akinwande all gear up for their fights on June 30th.

Add Elieser Castillo (36), the cuban southpaw to that list. Scheduled to fight Fres Oquendo (who just fails to make the list at 34) next month. He's been pretty much inactive, with just a handful of fights in the last few years.

anyways that would be a good belt for comback fighters it allows them to achieve somthing and still have the abilty to fight for a world title

Although I don't see how can you tag fighters who are only 34 to 37, Seniors?

That is not at all old for a heavyweight, these days. Some heavies only hit their best years when in their mid 30s.

But anyway, great thread. And good work.

Vitaly will be 37 is less than 25 days. He is not 35 anymore.

If I am not mistaken, he's 35, now. He turns 36 sometime this summer.

Good work on your list:good Its like a shot but Name fighter wish list for the upcoming HW prospect.

Sad for Boxing and the HW division that many on there are STILL HANGING ON.

For the love of life??? Tubbs vs Wilson has a combined AGE of 100???

Anyone think a SENIOR SHOT division Belt would sell???WBC Senior Champion to go a long with the INternational Belts now posessed by Hatton, and Pacquiao???

Bowe vs Holyfield :scaredas: :scaredas: :scaredas: or Bowe vs Golota 3???:yikes :yikes :yikes ???
It might still sell, though I'd fear for whatever Riddick has left in the number of BRAIN CELLS. I dont C anyone on that list, a threat to the top 4 or 5 HW's out ther.

DamonD
06-29-2007, 05:47 AM
About Castillo...I was going to stick to the guys that have actually achieved some name value as a heavyweight (even Marion Wilson has that draw with Mercer).

Kinda similar with Audley, although he did beat Danny Williams I guess.

Thing is, then I might as well include people like Matt Skelton who's 40 and technically is coming back from the loss to Williams (since he's only fought once since then).

Hmm. It wasn't intended to be this complicated...

DamonD
06-29-2007, 03:32 PM
Okay, how about this...

I'm gonna keep the list to guys that will be 35 or older this year, and were either champions, or fought for a HW championship (including Linear in Savarese's case).

The only exception is Larry Donald...but hey...it's Larry Donald! :D

There are older HW fighters out there still, but not with any name value so sadly unlikely to be making any waves on the division these days (no offense to the Marion Wilson or Eliseo Castillos of the world).

Sounds like Platov's had to drop out, Andriy Oleinyk (12-7) has stepped in at the 11th hour to fight Akinwande. That should probably be Henry's 50th pro win.

Here's the stae of play as of today...I've removed Savarese because he's said he's retired again now, and I haven't heard anything else about the rumoured Tua fight so he's back in the second section.
