We had to work for this win, well not in terms of the fight he clearly dominated the fight, However we were set to fight at Freindship boxing club at 1pm However the card got full and we were bumped so we couldnt fight.
However we found out there was another show down the street at 5 weigh in was at 1pm so my kid and our opponent agreed to do it there, and it was hell, they had a hard time getting the officials and Doctor to show, they were all MIA, so the card was called off, then it was suddenly back on, then off again, then the Doctor and officials showed and it was on again.
We were the first bout, and let me say after waiting nearly ten hours to get this fight, knowing my kid was probably drained, he stayed focused through all of that, and still went out and did his thing I will post video in the next couple days My neice is down here from Seattle until wed so I am spending some time with her.

Congrats to your kid. Let me tell you Bazooka, your kid was my motivation before my 2nd fight. During the weigh in, which was a day before the fight, I saw my opponent and he was waaaaay taller than me. Got home, went to ESB, surfed through and saw your name. Remembered you had a kid who was short and stocky. Luckily I did win.

Thanks everybody, notice what our opponent did with his trunks during the standing 8? he pulled them down to buy more time very smart move he was hurt!!!
We fought in Watts cus the show earlier that day only allowed one fight from each club on that card. it was a long wait but well worth it.

His opponent had a lot of reach advantage, but your boy fought well inside and out-scored and clearly won that match. And he does have some nice power. Normaly the stool doesnt matter but after waiting all day to fight we needed every bit of rest we could get, that kid we fought was tuff though my hat is off to him he fought us back, I do try to put my kid in deep but not too deep there has to be a learning curve to it or else its pointless.
we fight again August 24th ill keep you informed.

This is news to me, I havent been round these parts too much since Cotto vs Margarito my neice came in from Seattle so I have been spending time with her and getting my kid ready for this fight.
I myself have actually learned a great deal since the last time out, I stopped focusing on getting him guys with good experience sparring is sparring and on his level he will need to spar guys that are there as well not just experienced.
so we mixed it up a bit this time around, simply because an experienced guy is not going to make the same mistakes that an in experienced guy does, so we got a bit of both in sparring, and it paid off IMO.
Damn I hope Kirk is okay so did he move back? or is it a Visit whats the deal? the last time we spoke things sounded like they were comming together nicely. anyhow get at me Freddy, perhaps sometime you guys can come down when we fight?

Every gym I take him to for sparring, they love him there man, they love his attitude, the way he is willing to scrap the whole bit. he does have room to improve yesterday was our first sparring session since the fight, and I really beleive from what I saw winning that fight helped him mentally, he looked soo much better in sparring yesterday.

he is 20 5'3 @145, The first time I got him in the gym his weight was 196 but that was due to playing football, it took alot of hard work to get his weight down where it is today.
The outside matches happen some clubs hold them at the parks in Southern Cal, this just happend to be one of them infact the whole event at that park was to give back to the community of Watts, it was a Gang and Violence awareness event which had a Karate show BBQ Music games and live Boxing.
I am very proud of the showing he put out, I wanted much more body work and more jabs but I aint bitching too much he won the fight, but he and I are two of the same we are perfectionist when it comes to this we always push to do better it showed in this fight and it will show in the next.
My hats off to our opponent he was tuff and gave us a fight that would allow you to see a bit of what my kid is made of.
