Realistically, Dib is the one with more to lose at this stage. He's contracted with Golden Boy and holds a fringe title, albeit by a shaky decision. I'm not surprised he turned it down.

i dont think Dibb should fight Kickett yet. the guy has just won the world title i think he has the right to defend it a few time and make some $$$ overseas before he fights Kickett

Does anyone really think Kickett can win a geniune world title? I doubt it very much. He has great skills, but not enough power to hold the top fighters off. St Claire showed that all u need to do is keep moving forward and pressure him all night. Yes, kickett will learn a lot from that fight, but he wont learn power. The top fighters in the division will walk through him all night.

I hope i'm wrong though. One thing about Willie, he's willing to step up and fight guy's most would stay away from until they were very seasoned. All credit to him.

BRILLIANT world champion Billy Dib says he's willing to face fellow unbeaten Aussie hotshot William Kickett - any time, any place.

But he says he wants to build the fight up over a period of time, like Anthony Mundine did with Danny Green.

"It's got the potential to be a superfight in Australia," said Sydney's IBO junior-lightweight champion.

"William Kickett's a good boxer but he doesn't have anything that really worries me.

"I'd love to fight him. He's unbeaten and I'm unbeaten so the fight is a natural.

"But I hold a world title and he doesn't. Once he wins a major belt then the fight becomes a lot more attractive.

"If we give the fight time to brew we can both do a lot better out of it financially than if we fight now."

Perth-based Kickett has had 11 fights compared to Dib's 21.

Dib's trainer Johnny Lewis has called Kickett the best Aboriginal prospect he's seen since Lionel Rose 40 years ago.
