View Full Version : F**** hell!! Hatton looks frightening!!

Hatton is completely 'ripped to the tits' and is looking in astonishing form in his training. He's in frightening form. If Castillo brings anything less than his very best A-game,he's going to get slaughtered. I'm really looking forward to this one. No way will be this be a dull fight whatever the outcome. All those who are saying it will, no nothing about boxing.

They're are in Castillo's camp on tomorrows programme. It's a British sports channel so clearly the interest is mainly with Hatton and they're using these shows to build up interest among the casual fans in the hope they will subscribe to the channel for at least a month. They've also been showing rerins of both Castillo/Correles fights as well as Hatton/Mausa
The channel is Setanta Sports. If you google them you may find some video links. Hatton is looking seriously awesome. I wouldn't put much money on Castillo even if you fancy him

I saw the thing on Setanta today and fuck me was Ricky frightening while working the body bag . The rest of what I saw him doing was very tame but on the body bag he was ferocious and when I say frightening , I mean genuine scary fucking frightening .
Could well be the best shape he's ever been in .

Yeah it shows you how he performs against overmatched opponents.
Any prospect/fringe contender in the division would have looked just as spectacular dispatching the first 25-30 Hatton opponents.

Your first sentence is correct but I really can't/couldn't see any fringe contender or prospect doing that just as impressively .
Giuseppe Lauri was an okay fighter , Jon Thaxton is a good fighter(who I would give a shot at beating Katsidis even though I obviously wouldn't have him favourite) .
Eamon Magee was fringe World class himself , and if you're not familiar with him you might say his record isn't great but believe me in his prime(and that's when Hatton beat him) only the top 10 in the World would have beaten Eamon Magee .
Mikhail Krivolapov was an okay fighter back then and would have been tough to stop for most fighters .

To those who think this is a 50/50 fight, your delusional or a hatton
hater. This fight isn't 50/50 if castillo comes in at 100% shape. He's
coming off a lackluster gift decision against a novice pro, and has had
countless weight problems. Hatton, on the other hand is at 110% fitness, and taking this fight tsyzu like seriously. Castillo can only hope to hurt hatton to the body, but hatton is in better physical and mental
shape than the urango fight. Lastly, we heard dick from the castillo camp.
My synopsis is that castillo gets beaten up badly and stopped.

I think folks are being a bit hard on Hatton. Say what you will about his win over KT, but I remember people saying KT was gonna ko Hatton in the early rounds. Didn't happen, did it? Also, he took a BIG chance against Collazo--who'd give most anyone fits--and his conditioning carried the fight, I thought. The guy, obviously, trains like a beast, is very strong at 140, and still young, while JLC has a lot of miles on him, spent too many years killing himself to make 135, and is still new to 140. I know enough about boxing to expect the unexpected; I'm rooting for JLC, all the way, but reality is reality.

You missed his point. The guy before was saying any fringe level world fighter would have destroyed all of Hattons opponents like Hatton did. But Mitchell fought Stewart and won on points after being given a rough time for the first 4 rounds.

I dont care if Sucra is 150 years old coming off a 200 fight losing streak that guy tough and always makes it a close fight. Hatton battered him to within an inch of his life. No-one ever does that to Oliveira, you can't fluke wins like that.

i dont care anymore how he seems... for the callazo fight he looked like a beast, in didnt transfer to his performance, and in fact he got more winded in that fight then ive seen him before, granted though it WAS his first fight at that weight.
also...
to me, he looks a bit drained.... again like he took too much weight off too fast. i think this will effect everything in his fight like it did for the urango, in which he looked WAY drained. he doesnt look as bad, but it still is obvious.

Right now Hatton would batter Ali. Your point was?:patsch
My point is guys like Oliveira, Philips, Tackie, Magee, whilst not quite elite, were still very experienced top 10 guys who as a rule give contenders and up-n-comers tough, close fights. Hatton battered them all easily, the beating he gave Vince Philips was very nasty to watch, and you can't do that unless you have real talent. If he'd have had close fights with those guys, scraped past em, you could justify the level of disrespect that he gets, but Ricky tore through those guys! Its one thing to beat a guy like Oliveira or Philips, lots of fighters have beaten those guys, but to diabolically brutalize them in the manner that Ricky Hatton did is unheard of. Who else has stopped Ray Oliveira? Ben Tackie is as hard as fucking nails and Hatton, who was still a novice at world level, beat him from pillar to post.

Oh dear. What a wally.
The reason he was out of gas by Round 6 against Urango was due to the after effects of a cold caught a few days before the fight. Ricky thought this may have come from the hotel air-con which is why on this occasion he decided to stay in a private house with no air-con. To Ricky's immense credit he didn't use this as an excuse in the aftermath of the Urango fight. Of course, any serious boxing fan willl have known this and taken it into account in their assessment of the Urango fight;which by the way, was won 119/109 on all three cards against an undefeated champion
