i've seen him fight a few times and he is a terrific little counter puncher, which makes it even more annoyin that he won't be at the olympics because he has the perfect style for the that scoring system, but will he make it as a pro?

Very.

Fast southpaw, very slick.

I hope the one thing to come out of this is he is so disillusioned he turns pro.

Might be selfish, but I don't tend to pay much attention to amateurs and want to see him as a pro.

:hi:

he was beaten easily by kindelan about 3 and a half yrs ago now.

he was dropped in that fight (can't remember if it was once or twice).

khan would have beaten him.

he's obviously a good talent though.

he was only 19 when he boxed kindelan.

he's improved since then.

shame he's not at the olympics.

he should go pro in my opinion. :bbb

he will go pro. he is good, but apparently his style is not entertaining like Khans, hes also not a very big puncher.

He is a counter punching southpaw - can be a bit cagey which won't sell well.

Khan sells because he has the vulnerability factor, kill or be killed seems to be the way.

Give him three fights as a pro then watch him KO Khan.

kindelan was picking him apart though not easily it was a close fight, kinelan beat khan by about 8 points

A simpler way to put it is 'Not as good as Khan'

You reckon?

Cause most of the ignorant twats who watch Khan reckon he would beat Mayweather, the only other boxer they have heard of.

I think he sells because of the Olympics and because he was lapped up by our media. The bulk of the guys who watch Khan dont know shit about boxing and reckon he is pretty much unbeatable.

Although to us real fans your point is true enough.

Ok 4 fights would be more realistic. :good

That was why I made the point

It is just the same as Hatton back in 01/02 when Frankie was selling him as a world champion. I would have bet him to have beaten any of the real champs at that time with the exception of Tszyu anyway, but the whole WBU thing really pisses me off.

Have you seen his Facebook fan page - former inter-alphabetty champion, former WBU world champion etc etc

I am a Hatton fan BTW!

in 4 years time, frankie gavin will be known as the guy that didnt make weight at the olympics.

So you dont reckon he will be a good pro?

He has a style more suited to the Amateur game, skilled but not much pop, and defensive minded. Hard to tell how good a pro he will be.

Give him three fights as a pro then watch him KO Khan. How you come to this conclusion mate? He's not a big puncher by any means. He's also not as talented as khan,.....

He was referring to when Frankie Gavin boxed Kindelan. I dont remember Gavin going down in that fight??

He lost by about 12 points but put up as good a fight a khan did against kindelan in the olympics.
