Its a pity they draw each other so early.

This should be the gold medal matchup, it is 2 of the top 3 boxers.

I'm cheering for the former gold medalist but Korobov will probably win this.

It was early also for Naim Terbunja who I`m sure that will arrive in the semi final if he will not fight in the first round with Korobov. You must be lucky in the final bouts.

Terbunja did draw Korobov, and blamed the Swedish Boxing Association for a whole lot of things. Like he would beat Korobov either way... :nono

Him blaming the SBA is uncalled for

Wow... Just opened the pc, and BAM! Korobov has lost. MY predicition was wrong. Artaev isn't a bad fighter, though.

Seems like the entire Russian boxing team has been gunned down in the opening rounds of the games. They were supposed to dominate, but already they are eliminated from six of eleven weight classes. These guys won't even qualify for bronze medals.

The Timurziev loss was most stunning...the brutal, decisive ending of the bout, and the fact that Islam was expected to beat his unheralded foe easily. This debacle set the tempo for Russia's team this year.

Seems like you were just looking at the results but not watching any fights or you wouldn't talk like that.

Sure, some of the Russian team's losses were controversial or close, or they were the result of an unlucky draw. All of the Russian fighters have been tough and competent, no doubt. But, right now they only have four out of eleven guys left in the running. This is very disappointing considering what was expected of the Russian team prior to the Olympics.

Well, you can only do so much if the odds are so heavily stacked against you. All you can do is being better than your opponent and in Beijing that's sometimes not enough. If everything went normal they would, even with this draw, probably have four more boxer still in the tournament.

I know Beterbiev and Vodopyanov should still be in it. Didn't see the little dude's fight. And it sounds like Korobov kind of got tooled.

I dont know what happen with Korobov today. He was bad day, because Terbunja beats Artyev last month in the international tournament in the Turkey.

No, he did not, bullshit once again. :patsch In the Ahmet Comert tournament Terbunja was beaten by Uzbek Elshod Rasulov in the preliminaries while Arteyev lost to Rasulov in the semifinals.

Are you sure, because my friend of Kosova Boxing Federation was there and he told me that Terbunja beats Arteyev in the semifinal but lost from somebody else in the final. Do you have link .....

Yes, I'm sure, because I actually check up on the things I'm talking about: [Only registered and activated users can see links]
Terbunja lost to Rasulov 4-10. Maybe you shouldn't rely too much on these "friends" if they spread such blatant lies to make their man look good. But Terbunja isn't any good, he could never beat a guy of Artayev's caliber.

Artayev should turn pro.His style is made for the pros.I always enjoyed watching him.
Korobov, too, should give it a try! Both fighters could make a lot of noise at the pros with a competent western promoter,a good matchmaker, and someone who knows how to sell both guys to a western audience.

I agree, though Artayev has to do it now, he is already getting up there in age for an amatuer fighter.

Id like to see this fight again, anyone have a link/youtube?
