Maybe now they'll acknowledge his existence when discussing British prospects.

Source. Seems unlikely given ****** doesn't work with Sky anymore.

Let's hope Sky have blown their entire boxing budget on signing Khan so that every other boxer goes onto channels I have.

It seems odd ****** signing Khan to Sky, but he is miffed with ITV for screening Khan late and doing a deal with Mick Hennessy for the Froch & Witter bill, and also enraged with Setanta for doing the deal with Haye and with Bob Arum.
He appears to have backed himself into a corner and with Hennessy apparently close to doing a 12/14 fight deal with ITV Frank will be forced back to Sky. In truth they are a match made in heaven, because they both love screening mismatches.

If ****** goes back to Sky expect to see plenty more WBU/WBO tosh.

it all comes down to money as ever and Sky have the most to pay for Khan's demands, which I bet were pretty high.
And bet they're thinking if 6 million were watching him beat Gomez past 11pm they'll pick up some decent return on PPV.
Remember Sky also have a few free saturday nights this football season cos they lost the FA rights (FA Cup and England internationals) to ITV and Setanta. Which I bet didn't go down too well with the big bosses.
They need something big to counter that loss. Khan is there answer i bet. And September 6th is a big night for football on Setanta as they have England World Cup qualifier v Andorra.

Think you could be onto something there silverman. They'll bring him on the Hatton way, lots of defences of a meaningless bauble then switch him to PPV when/if he finally steps up.

Khan's father probably cottoned on to that. ITV don't have sufficient ability to really build up a fighter, whereas Sky do, through SSN, website blogs etc etc.

I bet all his ITV fans are going crazy right now

Most of those will have Sky anyway :deal
I see a WBU reign of terror - he would put Lee McAllister away pretty easily before making three defences and unifying with the WBF.

With Calzaghe and Haton on their way out, and also missing out on Haye, bet Sky are pinning their hopes on Khan becoming the next superstar.
Same with Sports Network. Can't see them risking him in any meaningful fights soon.
Frank will be hoping Enzo wins his cruiserweight belt back, keeping the WBO super-featherweight fights between his own Arthur, Cook and Mitchell. Trying to get Ordinary Harrison a heavyweight title shot before Haye.
Bet the Khan's aren't too happy to be disappearing off terrestrial TV. From six million to six figure audiences.
Though sure there will be enough money to keep them happy.

I have heard rumours both ways. one says Hennesey is putting Froch vs Pascal on the Hatton undercard for sky, the others say what slip has said.
Khan will not be PPV until he fights for a world title. wonder if he will be on FFN on satudays still.
Thought Sports Network had signed an exclusive 3 year deal with Setanta Sports involving the likes of Enzo Maccarinelli, Alex Arthur & Kevin Mitchell, etc.
If Sky have signed Amir Khan I'm intrigued as to what will happen on Sept 6th with Arthur & Khan co-headlining.
Perhaps Khan won't fight on that bill after all and thats part of the reason an opponent has yet to be officially announced.

intresting they say 6 of the 11 fights will be PPV, I cannot imagine any card ****** putting on being capable of PPV. the sep 6th show has 3 of his top 5 fighters on the same card, and its not PPV worthy.
Fights ****** could put over the next year that our PPV worthy.
Khan vs Campell
Khan vs Pacman
Arthur vs Mitchel (if it had a top undercard)
and in relaity on 1 of those will get made within a year, so where our the 6 PPV's gonna come from?

If they took Khan of the MEN bill people would be pissed, 90% of the tickets sold our to see khan not arthur or harrison.

bet frank hates setanta even more now they signed up with Calzaghe.
if he was angry when they did a deal with Haye, bet that deal tipped him over the edge.
And if Setanta can't get Khan, what's the point of a big deal with Sports Network for them.
So i imagine both side will find a way out and Sept 6th will be the first part of a new deal with his old friends and then hated enemies at Sky.

Odd though - just over 3 weeks away and still no official announcement as to who Khan is fighting next????

Sky bosses will think any Amir show is PPV. If six million are regularly watching him late Saturday night on ITV they will be hoping a percentage of them will carry on wanting to follow his career.
Even a small % will make it work PPV.
four Khan shows a year PPV for Sky.

Top stuff, all this shit will be free on polsat then.
Who in there right mind is going to pay to watch khan fight little fat guys ? The general public can't be that gullible. He only get 6m viewers on ITV because it was free to watch. I can imagine more then a few thousand paying to watch khan on ppv if he fights his usual level of opponent.

In the current economical climate expecting anyone to pay £15 on top of a £50 subscription for a non title fight is an absolute piss take.

Never had Sky ... and you'e right. If they expect you to pay that much for Khan knocking over rubbish for a year or two is bollox.
Hope the people who tell me all this shit are worng for the Khan fans.

Khans opponents aren't usually announced this late in the day. For a headline act I'd expect to know by now. Seems ages ago Arthur's opponent for Sept 6th was confirmed.

Perhaps FW will raise his game if Sky are promoting over half his bills on a PPV basis - suspect Sky will want potential customers to know who the opponents are well in advance if they are going to be persuaded to shell out extra. Hopefully the quality of opposition will improve also.
is ****** not in talks with the bbc...

Sky sports channels are so over priced its not even funny. Their boxing events in the last few years have been shit. The odd Hatton PPV? Not alot else.
Since Hatton is done and near retirement they need a new PPV cash cow.
I dont mind paying for setanta. They put on alot of decent shows which feature Calzaghe and Haye (not to mention other events from america including great UFC cards).

Your right, all the best US fights are on Setanta. Cant remember the last decent overseas fight on Sky.

The Aisan Population of the UK is less than 2 million. At best 25% of that would watch the Khan fight so 500,000 of 6mil is not a great deal.
its not just aisans that watch Khan, theres not that much decent level sport on terriestrial tv, at prime time, so it gets allot of attention from sports fan in all corners. plus Khan is the hottest prospect in world boxing.

I get setanta sports free from Virgin media so i was hoping Khan's fights would have been on Setanta.
I'm not prepared to pay money to watch Khan fight over-the-hill featherweights.I will only buy PPV if Khan fights for a world title etc!!
I'm just hoping Sky force ****** to improve the quality of opponents.
Anyway, does this increase the chance of Khan fighting John Murray?
not if Murray goes to ITV with Hennasy

25% is generous. from personal experience make that about 5%.

500,000 is A GREAT DEAL considering that the margarito/cotto fight sold 450,000 in America where they have a much bigger population, and that khan is not even fighting for any legitimate title or against a world/european/domestic class fighter.

its a great deal when your selecting from a 2% of the uk population.
So lets turn this around a bit...out of Sky and ****** who do you think approached who?****** approached Sky or did sky approach ****** ?

It wouldnt surprise me if he puts him on PPV against no hopers staright away.;)
****** is trying his hardest to create another Naz, starting out on ITV to get exposure, then onto SKY and charge silly prices once a gullable fanbase has been built and lets face it, if no true fans of boxing were to watch Amir he'd still make a fortune with all the nut huggers paying to watch him anyway. ****** is very good at building up a fighters reputation as far as joe public goes and he can make them out to be the best fighter since Cassius Clay and as long as he keeps beating all the blown up feather weights his nuthuggers will always pay to see it
Thing is though, Naz actually had the talent whereas Khan is looking more and more iffy each time he gets tagged.
****** has a bad habit of neglecting his other fighters when a new project comes along. Joe Calzaghe was fighting cardboard cut outs until Naz was gone, Hatton had to threaten to leave him in order to get the Tszyu fight, Alex Arthur is at the stage in his career he should have been at at least 3 years ago but ****** had a new toy (Khan) so that didnt mean shit to him then I remember ****** in an interview stating Kevin Mitchell was the best prospect he had ever seen but along comes Amir and Mitchells career just stalls. Kev is now starting to move up in his career but it feels like he has been at the same level for years. Scott Harrison was asking for a big fight for years and even if he wouldnt have won he'd have been a handful for any of the top guys with his granite chin, no retreat attitude and physical strength yet ****** was tending to his latest toy.
Yep, thats how I see it, Frank has put years of cash and time into Khan (more than I've seen him put into any other of his fighters) and with all these wobbly episodes each time Khan gets clipped by a blown up SFW I doubt very much we will see him stepping up anytime soon (if ever)
Funny thing is though, even at the level Amir is fighting at currently its only a matter of time until one of these wee fella's tags him and puts his lights out and its gonna be funny as feck watching ******s fish face as it happens
