She (Robin Givens) contributed alot, no doubt about that. She came in and disrupted Mike's whole team. She convinced Tyson to bring in Don King and she was defiantly after his money, everybody knows that. He would have never lost the Douglas fight if it had not been for her. She was a big distraction at that time.I remember Tyson wrecking his car weeks leading into the fight (Yes Givens) was a big contributor to his downfall.

He's very romantic..things like putting a diamond under your pillow..or ask him to bring back something, and he brings back a porsche.
:barf
Disgusting gold-digging *censored...................*good for nothing *censored......* never amount to *censored* in her *censored...........* life.

Cus's death sent him reeling, but it didn't help having scavengers like this around.

she totally ruined him, a total scumbag, she drove him to the edge and pushed him over, the bullshit miscarriage to get him to marry her, her talking about her"domestic life with mike" on 20/20, she tried clearing out his bank accounts, the list goes on and on, she bled him dry, and she is still today using his name, pullling it through mud to promote some bullshit book about herself

Exactly. Between Givens and that lying slut Desiree Washington, I don't know which is worse, or which contributed more to destroying Tyson.

Of course, King was a HUGE part of it, too.

People who try and make excuses up for Tyson's downfall had a bigger impact.

The truth was Tyson rarely took responsiblites for his own actions. But that was not helped by the people around him worrying more about his boxing than his mental make up and social skills.

Sadly D'Amato, Rooney and Jacobs had a lot more to do with his downfall than Givens. They were misguided in throwing him into the deep end of a boxing career without sorting his other demons out first. This not using hindsight either, you could see from the moment he exploded onto the scene, Tyson was a flawed genius.

They kept him in check, keeping him training properly and focusing on his next opponents. The fact is, Tyson was a troubled person his whole life, and D'Amato and the others weren't psychiatrists/psycologists, they helped him the way they knew how, by giving him something to be proud of in his life and keeping him focused on it. When they were out of the picture he was set free in a sense and self-destructed.

Yes, he should have been given professional help, but that falls on King's shoulders too, he didn't bother to help when Tyson was plummeting into self-destruction. He just put him in the ring to make the big money. (And I'm not talking about doctors writing scripts for Zoloft. I'm talking about true, long-term psychiatric treatment.)

When you throw a kid who has never been taught restraint and self-respect out into the world with millions of dollars, beautiful women, and devious buisnessmen, he will be torn to pieces and left a shell of himself if he isn't dead. And what you see now is the shell of a troubled kid who was given the world with no idea and no guidance as to how to handle it.

Cus and the others had a role. But by and large they kept him on the right track or at least tried to the best they knew how. You cannot say the same about Don King and the rest of the leeches however.

Yes King has his part in the Tyson down fall as well. But I notice there is no reference to the man who had ultimate responsibilty and that is Tyson himself.

He was not a stupid man, he actually seemed very articulate and street smart. But he choose not to address his own demons, and had enough yes men around him and fans in general to close his eyes and ignore his glaring faults...

Yes, he had his own part in it. But it was obvious early on that he had little self-restraint, when you can't help yourself you need others to help you. He had many people around him and nobody stepped up to the plate. He had mental problems he needed to deal with.

Its like seeing a guy, drunk as he can be, going for his car keys at a party. Everyone watches him, smiles, and waves at him as he gets in his car. He doesn't have the capacity to make good judgement for whatever reason, be it mental depression, or whatever, somebody needed to step in for his sake.

He is part to blame, but I have a feeling that if he wanted to step away from boxing for a period of time to seriously go seek counselling or therapy, he would have had people trying to convice him not to. Or saying here, take this Zoloft, it will make you better you don't need to stop your life.

Tyson is lucky to have married a piece of ass that fine. If his dumb ass would have had a half a brain, he would have fucked her up the ass, and then refused to marry her until she signed a prenup.well, he could have married naomi cambell but probably would have ended up the same way. you right about the prenup though. the fuck was he thinking?

Great videos... (Y) I personally think that Robin wasn't realy the main issue, she just speeded up the process of a house crumbling.
