I think such tournaments should be in every mayor organisation to figure
out top 1 contender each year. If there is no number one contender then
the two top guys on the list should face two top prospects which
are in top 15, and the winner is the next mandatory to the title shot.
In this way the contunuous inflow of fresh blood will be enforced into
division limiting possibility of recycling the same names all over just
for their name sake.

Do you think they should make the fighters fight twice on the same night similiar to some MMA tournaments?

Why would they?
They need preparation its serious boxing not pity paty TV show. However
I would expect the tournament ends in like 4 months from announcing the participants.
So in 4 months the top one contender will be known.

4 men fight, then the winners of both fights get to fight one another for the belt/No.1 status.
All on the same night.
Sounds good to me, it would be a great PPV.

If you think that they could fight the same night then I would like you to participate in the tournament.
And whether you lose or win the first fight you will have to fight the same night for the #1 or #3 spot.
I guess you would be happy with this?

It'd be ideal. But a fighter can take an awful beating even when he wins the fight. if its 4 months from beginning to end, that would leave him with 8 weeks to train for the first fight and 8 weks to recover and train for the second fight?

You may think that: if the fighetr is receiving such beating then
he is probably not worth to challenge the title in the first place.
