View Full Version : Ask Jeff Fenech how fair Olympic scoring is!

While we are at it, who could forget Los Angeles (1984), when the judges awarded Jeff Fenech a 3-2 win against Redzepovski (Yugoslavia) in a quarter final of the flyweight division. The jury then reversed the decision 4-1 and Redzepovski went on to win the silver medal.

Makes the scoring inconsistencies that we are seeing in Beijing pale by comparison (so far!).

That said. Watched the UK born 17 year old Aussie fight late last night. Admittedly he didn't set the world on fire. But he wasn't given a point by the judges til the last minute of the 4th round!

The same Jeff Fenech who believed a corrupted ex criminal 40 year old punch drunk Tyson was good enough to clean out the heavyweight division?

Ask Roy Jones Jr the same question.... Snowy Baker is another example of poor Olympic Boxing Decisions.. In London 1908, he faught in the Middleweight final against J.W.H.T Douglas.... (future English cricket captain...nicknamed Johnny Wont Hit Today Douglas, due to poor batting exploits)... his father was the referee/sole judge in the fight...Suffice to say, Douglas received the gold medal. The pair had a gentlemans fight later on, after a dinner, and Snowy Baker got the better of J.W.H.T....
