I will do a quick update of Prices fight provided the fucking live feed sorts itself out.
The BBC had it running fine all morning and in the past hour it has either not worked at all or been jumping and freezing constantly.
Anyway if it sorts itself out, I will just do the end of round scores and a brief comment.

The Super Heavy bouts have started, Price is due on in about 45 minutes I think.
The feed is totally unwatchable at the moment, so if it is on TV then you can do the update.:D

I will if it comes on but I have not been able to find any info from the bbc about the bout. Fucking chumpa, all they care about is how shit we are at minority sports. :-(

That stoppage made Calzaghe vs Manfredo look brutally late - two cuffing shots forcing KD's and the fight was waved off :patsch

Not sure how much more the Russian could have done to show the ref he was ok. Maybe he should have offered to do a few of the drunk driving tests from "The Man with Two Brains".

Despite the dubious nature of the win, Price still deserves alot of credit.

It doesn't matter. 3 KDs in one round is an automatic stoppage in amateur boxing. So all Price had to do was drop him once more to win. Seeing as I have only heard the KDs due to the gash feed, I wont comment on whether he should have been allowed to go on.
But from the sounds of it, Price should have had to floor him again and not just be given the stoppage win if the guy was fine to continue.

Whoops missed this thread. Yea I thought the stoppage was OK. He was clearly still dazed after the first Knockdown. The blows were pretty crunching, imo.

I thought he was fucked in the first round, the Russian was all over him like a cheap suit, though he blocked the shots very well.
As I watched it on BBC website, I cannot be 100% sure what the Russians eyes looked like, though the stoppage seemed premature for me.
In any case, Joe Murray got ripped off a bit the other day so time for some good fortune on our side.
I really hope the American light flyweight gets KTFO though, running like a little bitch all the way through. The biggest criticism of the games thus far is the lack of willingness of officials to clamp down on holding and running away :deal

Didn't expect this...bloody good stuff. Amateur stoppages tend to be a bit weak anyway, so I'm not too disappointed in that.
End result counts and wow, what a result for Price. Competition is wide open now.

Cammarelle looked class though his opponent wasn't all that.

Timurziev was actually the favorite to get through to the final.. Many tipped him as the choice for the gold medal.. Price just did what he had to do, a very professional job.......... Unreal..
