what a fantastic performance by big dave, stopped the favourite for the gold in the second. people are complaining about the stoppage but the rule in amatuer boxing of RSTC gave the ref. no choice. lets hope he doesn't mess up against lesser opponents and this will give him great confidence as he doesn't look the most naturally confident

He does look rather hesitant, though perhaps feeling your way with the jab is no bad thing.

Hey - if it wins him a gold medal, great stuff :happy

Yeah, that bit made me laugh! Nice to see how much he wants it :)

The right hand for the first standing-8 was a peach, beat Timurziev to the left he was trying to throw.

Amazing performance from the big guy and a very decision from the ref. Timid Tim looked gone at the second 8count. Hopefully Price will find his composure in the next couple of fights and manage a medal.

Congratulations to him and the team.

Price hasnt just overcome the first hurdle for himself.

He has removed a major obstacle for everybody in the tournament and thrown it wide open.

I was in the gym on the airsteper watching the bout thinking Price would loose, and when he won I just threw my hands up in the air with clenched fists, distracting everybody else in the gym.

very happy for him but i think the ref could have let the fight go on a bit longer.

the russian was on his feet and looked to be fully recovered from the KD - fair enough stopping the fight if he went down a third time but i know that if that had happened to one of the british fighters i'd be thoroughly pissed off.

Yes, but it wouldn't be amateur boxing without crap and 'look at me' refereeing and blind judges would it?

Poor stoppage but I think Price would have got the 3rd knockdown before the end of the round. The Russian just didn't seem to fancy it.

Thanks for the time, knew it was between 2-3 but didn't know when.

It's going to be a tough one. I have a worry that, while he can hit, he could have problems landing them against this opponent. He'll need to be a lot busier with that jab to fill the gaps with points.

Price wins again.

Lithuanian injured himself and threw in the towel after the first round...

oh my word. price is a on a ko streak

roberto camarelle isnt as impressive as peopel make him out to be. very tall on his feet a good jab cross coudl flatten him in my oipnion....but he is fart bigger than price. price is 222 pounds 6'6 while camarelle is 6'9 but 268 pounds

thats is a statistical mismatch

Why doesn't Price use his jab more?
Everytime he threw it then he put the guy off balance but he doesn't use it enough.
