Alexis Arguello .Vs. Hector Camacho

What if Hector Camacho moved up to 135. To challenge Lightweight Champion Alexis Arguello? Hector would dazzle in the earlygoing, But could he hold on for fifteen, Against "The Explosive Thin Man"?

I respect Camacho's talent and he probably would look good for a few early rounds, but in my opinion we're talking about two fighters on different levels. The Arguello of the 1st Pryor fight would savage Camacho as soon as the pace slowed and his stalking began to cut off the ring. Arguello by brutal KO between the 7th and 10th rounds.

Arguello by late round stoppage. He begins to time Camacho with regularity after round 8 and stops him between the 11th-13th. I think Camacho would win the early rounds pretty easily though.

Technically Arguello was retired by the time Camacho moved up to LW. If we're talking about the Camacho that beat Limon, then still, Arguello was at 140 by that time and Camacho was still comfortable at 130.

This could've happened I guess late in Arguello's 135 reign and early in Camacho's career, prior to facing any real competition. At that point I'd have to favor Arguello by late rounds KO. Prime for prime I think Hector had the style to do it at LW pre-Rosario, but then again, Arguello could very well be his Rosario. Stylistically I got Camacho, but I don't know if he's avoiding punishment throughout the fight. I'll say prime for prime Camacho by close Decision, gets hurt and KD'd perhaps. Basically just like the Rosario fight. People underrate Camacho's resilience and durability, having never been stopped by all the best.

Alexis truely hated Runners, and Hector was probably as elusive as they came, I can not help but think that if Vilomar Fernandez could outmanuvere Alexis for a points win, then Hector must have some type of chance also - through styles. Alexis a favourite for sure, but an upset with a very Mobile Hector points-pinching would not overly surprise me.

He didn't run,Grab 'till after Rosario shook him up.He'd probably fight using lateral movement and jabs to keep his space and be the ring general, looking to attack Arguello off guard with combos at times, basically how he fought Ramirez or most fighters around that time. He wasn't dumb to play the aggressor head on against Arguello.

For all the flack Camacho gets, he had an all time great chin.

If a prime Tito couldnt stop Hector, when he was old as hell, then Arguello isnt stopping a prime Camacho.

Camacho's speed and movement would befuddle Alex. Arguello might have been better than Rosario, but he wasnt nearly as quick on his feet as Rosario.

Pre-Rosario Camacho had a hell of a shot for a decision since Arguello was never in his prime at 135 ... however Alexis may still have finished what Edwin started ...
