I've been wanting this fight to happen for ages.
Looks like its happening in December, I wonder if the person who wins it will be fighting Khan at some point in the new year.

This could be a very good fight. Murray looked very good recently and although McAllister gets alot of bad press he is actually not a bad fighter.

Khan is too scared to go near either.

But if its true Khan is going to Sky he has to go down:

a) British belt
b) Euro belt

before he gets any PPV, and if anyone mentions PacMan and Khan in the same sentance again i'm going to scream. Khan couldn't even lace up his gloves!!!

I think it will be a good fight, both styles are different.
I'm glad Lee is finally getting a bigger fight and it should be on the ITV.

Good fight. Amir won't fight the winner. If Murray looks impressive Sky may step in and force Amir's hand, surely Sky will keep SN in check this time?

I think this is the most realistic chance of Murray-Khan happening. I think Murray will get past McAllister but can he look impressive enough doing it to put pressure on Khan/ ******?

When there was talk of Khan fighting McAllister for the WBU title ppl were not rating McAllister as a decent opponent for Khan and now he is a real threat?

I doubt I was one of those people. I think McAllister would be a good but beatable opponent for Khan even at this stage of his career and it would give Khan a legitimate world title belt to brag about.

McAllister has alot of haters on this board but I have never met him or seen much of him out of the ring so I can not really judge his personality. We all talk shit every now and again about how we can take on the world, McAllister likes to talk himself up but so do most people and most fighters. I like the look of a Murray vs McAllister fight and hopefully the winner going onto fight Khan.

McAllister can't punch shit. He makes Malignaggi look like Ernie Shavers.

Murray should walk him down and win a decision. I just hope he continues the progress he made in his last fight, where his pressure was more educated and he rememered you are allowed to defend yourself in boxing. If he does that, he has a chance of going further.

Exactly imo though if Murray does carry on with his progress he'll win by late stoppage. Should be a good fight.

Murray really needs to start showing some consistent form. He was superb against Meager and needs to maintain that level of performance against McAllister. Hopefully then it will lead to more rewarding fights for him.

Definitely, I know its been said but i think/hope (as I'm a fan of Murray) that its the case of better class of opposition better performance.

Murray should be too good in this, the people of Aberdeen will be confused though. Why is their two weight World Champion taking on the British champion for the British title and not the World belt :huh

When there was talk of Khan fighting McAllister for the WBU title ppl were not rating McAllister as a decent opponent for Khan and now he is a real threat?McAllister was nominated by the BBBofC. In other words, Murray has no choice of opponent here. If there was no English title, I reckon a better opponent would have been put forward. Maybe Gethin or someone like that.

McAllister will likely use movement to stay away from Murray (given how strong Murray looked vs Meager & Hickman). So it should be at least a decent exercise in wearing down a boxer who doesn't want to trade shots.

I'd love to see Murray v Thaxton. And Murray v Gethin. Gethin has been a real surprise and seems to keep getting better.

Good to hear it's in Manchester. Murray can start building a good following. Really promising fighter.

I was shocked Murray won the purse bids as Lee can sell alot of tickets here in Aberdeen.
I'm going to make the trip down to Manchester, any idea how big the venue is and what its like for boxing?

The venues pretty big i'd say, been there for music gigs but never boxing. Thinking of making the trip up myself, really like Murray and its a few days before my birthday, weekend in manchester maybe if its a good undercard.

Manchester is not a huge City Centre so yeah, it's a 5-10 min walk from pretty much anywhere central

It's the old G-mex

Eubank, McGuigan and various other big fights have been held there in the past I'm sure
