According to Sky who will show the September 6 card on Box Office:patsch.

Boxrec have Prescott on the 18th of September though.

Prescott has fought a bunch of nobodies in Colombia and only 4 of his 19 opponents have winning records. On the plus side he has stopped 17 of his opponents and has a massive 89.47% KO ratio:hey. His last fight was in America where he won a split decision victory over an opponent with a 10-0-1 record.

Who in their right mind will pay 15 quid to watch this card?

EDIT: A plus for Prescott- according to the BBC he holds a height and reach advantage over Khan. Decent opponent for Khan, a guy who can punch and is bigger than him. Still not PPV worthy though.

Khan's fighting nowhere near world class and Arthur-Cook, although for the WBO title, is no more than a domestic dust-up. This is Friday Fight Night standard, not PPV. We're already paying about 40 quid a month for Sky - which should be more than enough, especially when Setanta are delivering the best world-class fights for 12 quid a month. Mayweather was a multi-weight world champ and top pound-for-pounder before he appeared on PPV in the US. Amir hasn't even fought the best of British yet. He should be fighting Manny Pac in Vegas to be PPV worthy. I can't believe this is PPV!

We shouldn't be looking at this too negatively, at least he's a puncher. What do you want them to do, throw him in with a class fighter AND puncher given the defence/chin issues? Let's deal with an unproven one first.

Not worth a PPV though of course, but you don't have to buy it.

I certainly won't be buying this bulls***. What a joke fight, and a joke decision to put it on box office.

I don't understand why people are so negative about this. I would have been pissed off if he fought another blown up FW but at least he's fighting someone that can bang and is bigger than him.

I hardly ever post on the forum but I see a lot of negativity from some posters.

I think this is a step in the right direction, better than fighting another Gomez.

frank must be building an extension on his house or something.

good news (maybe) about the opponent though.

The opponent doesnt look that bad on paper .... and although boxrec doesnt always have the best rankings, they have him at 127 !!

A, Khan should be fighting somebody much better at this stage of his career.

B. PPV !! .... What a fucking joke.

Who the fuck is Breidis Prescott???? Probably better off fighting John Prescott! On paper the guy looks good, but have a GOOD look, half of the fighters he's beaten have NEVER won a single fight, so it's pretty easy K.O. guys who cant feckin fight to save themselves. A PPV! :nut  Who the fuck do Sky think Khan is, Oscar Delayhoya, feck me what a joke. ****** is SUCH a tosser. Hope this guys catches Khan and ends this circus.. GO ON PRESCOTT

Well hes a natural lighweight, 5ft11, he has KO power and at 25 he's young and hungry. Given the fact Khan has a new trainer and his obvious defensive flaws, I think its a good match up. Hes ranked by 14 by the WBA.

People reckon that this guy is a 'power puncher' on the basis that he beat up on nine Columbian dustmen who didn't have a win in a professional fight between them?

LOL

How do you know he can bang? How do you know he is bigger then Khan?

Are you in the know?

At least Gomez had pedigree, decent technique and a proven punch, this guy is nothing more then a pair of arms and legs attached to an unknown face with a manufactured record.

I've watched all of his fights on ITV, and some of them have been quality fights, even if he has been in with poor quality opposition.
I've also got sky sports, so I would've watched him on that, but there is no way in hell I'm paying £15 for this.

And to top all this bullshit off this prescott or whatever his name is has a lenghty 3 weeks to train for the fight!

what a fuckin joke!

and gomez is one of khans best wins to date, actually other than limond are there any others???

brown bomber
08-15-2008, 04:27 PM
Earl, Gomez and Limmond are Khans biggest wins.... Earl was shot to pieces, Gomez not the fighter he once was and Limmond probably underrated.

I have little doubt had Earl been awake enough to get into the fight he would have at least had Khan over.

well i would of thought earl would have troubled khan too but it was over too quick.
At 1st i thought the stoppage was too quick but on looking back he looked in trouble from the bell.

Im going to the sep 6th date so hope this prescott makes it a decent fight, however SFJ is back and paul smith and rogie i believe not to mention AAA.
Hope its a good night

Apparently Breidis is John Prescotts son.

If his dad is anything to go by the Breidis guy will give Khan a good fight.

This is a disgrace.

1. PPV?????

2. Fighting for a world title soon????

rooq
08-15-2008, 05:49 PM
sky have got a mere 3 weeks to hype this up into a must-buy ppv...expect prescott to be built up into a world class opponent and logical step towards a world title.

i didn't buy the last hatton ppv, and i certainly won't buy this. sky will probably repeat it the following friday.

This is absolute daylight robbery. Im going to the fight anyway but to pay £15 for it is absurd.

Fighting a total unknown who koed a few local bums and people think this is a step in the right direction??

khan fighting an unknown?? never!!:rofl :patschHe might be unknown at the moment, but come fight night the WBO will have recognised his talents and pushed him up to No2 or something in the rankings.

I've noticed Jim Watt has assumed the Barry McGuigan full-time role as "Khan Dick Sucker As Courtesy Of TV Network"

Disapointing - I just read his article on Skysports.com

At first this looks like Khans actually fighting a puncher but when you look at his record he has only fought 3 or 4 fighters with winning records:patsch

****** is going to bleed the Khan circus dry just before Amir falls flat on his face.

The Jim Watt article is shockingly bad.

I would be surprised if Jim actually wrote it, because although his accent is incredibly grating (espec when a punch lands on a Brit fighter) he does talk a lot of sense.

By simply saying that Khan will win a title because all the alphabets rank him in the top 10 is laughable, the guy hasn't even proved that he is the best 135lb'er in Greater Manchester, never mind the north of England or Great Britain :patsch

Well Prescott could land a lucky punch, unlikely i grant you but it could happen. If it does happen, a promoter cam would be a wonderful addition to add to the PPV coverage. :D

08-16-2008, 05:46 PM
hopefully prescott does have some kind of punch and can take one. If he can put khan over and take him the distance maybe the hype will die down. £15 is way too much for a guy that has struggled against 2 of his 3 biggest challenges.

realsoulja
08-16-2008, 06:06 PM
This is why Khan is not respected

no doubt he is a good talent, and great offensivley, but he is over hyped, and he himself over hypes himself talking about being world class level. then he is on PPV

I saw this guy fight on fight of the week on channel 5 or somthing like that a couple of months ago.

Think it must have been his last fight against a guy called Abril. Abril looked a much better and tidier boxer but Prescott did look strong and looked to have a decent dig on him.

As far as i can remember it was a debatable points win, and the crowd werent overly pleased with the decision, but the guy does look very strong and bigger than khan.

I think khan will be able to outbox Presscot for a well fought points decision, Judging by what i have seen of presscot who is a bit ragged and not as well schooled as khan.

Could be interesting if he does land a big one though.

another of franks amazaing fights. like someone said above, hes just trying to make as much money off amir as he can untill he faces a proper opponent and that is the end of amir kahn. i for 1 hope im proved wrong but i dont think i will be, PPV is a joke, i could understand if he was fighting a well known opponent but not a nobody.
