1. Roy Jones Jr
2. Evander Holyfield
3. Pernell Whitaker

5. Bob Fitzsimmons - Although I've not seen much footage, I love his legacy. Prooved it's not the size of the dog in the fight, but the fight in the dog.
4. Muhammed Ali - Have to have him in here somewhere, fact is stranger then fiction with a career that plays out like a film script.
3. Joe Calzaghe - Say what you like about him, I think he's a true warrior, hit him and he'll come straight back at you with his own shots. Amazing self belief that gives him his strength. I like watching him fight.
2. Lennox Lewis - Gentleman boxer, great ring generalship, could box or fight. You can't beat his resolve.
1. Tommy Hearns - Never in a boring fight, amazing right hand, great heart and a true sportsman, I've never heard him complain about fighters or results.
Eubank, RJJ, Calzaghe, Ali, Kessler
+ Glen Johnson

It is funny to see how people from most countries pick their best from a variety of countries, whereas many americans tend to pick the best from .. well... America.
Ummm, you serious?
This is a favorite fighter list. Not a best fighter list.
Someone that made a list could write 5 bums with a combined record of 3-218-7 and it would be fine.....no matter WHERE the fighters were from.
Plus, we are talking an alltime list here. Foreign born fighters werent as big on the boxing scene in say the 20s, 30s, 40s, etc....as they are today. And limited exposure in the decades after that.
On top of that, I have seen Americans with Chavez, Sanchez, Cotto, etc. ALL OVER THESE LISTS!!! Or should we count the PR and Mexican fighters as Americans, just because they are in the same general area? Or do you even know the difference.
The anti-american sentiment with so many of these posters is making me sick lately. Now an american isnt allowed to have a top all time favorite list with american fighters in it.....yet noone says anything about non-american fighters having non-american fighters that have fought for only a few years on theirs...WHICH ALSO DOESNT MATTER BECUASE ITS THEIR FAVORITE LIST!!! It doesnt make a difference who is on it, where they are from, how many fights they had or if they are any good.
The funny thing I am noticing is, the nationalistic sentiment on here comes so much stronger from non-american posters....Id say they are 100x worse than their US counterparts....yet you dont hear amercan posters saying this in EVERY DAMN POST!
Grow the fuck up people.

Salvador Sanchez- Everything a fighter should be; smooth, quick, well-conditioned, cool under fire, confident.
Bobby Chacon- The King of Excitement.
Marvin Hagler - Just exudes the essence of a fighter.
Mando Ramos - Sort of in the same mold as Chacon, though not the kind of signature wins Bobby had.
Alexis Arguello- Proof that one doesn't need a lot of thug behavior to be a fighter.

Im not sure how people like Marvin Hagler to be honest hes always scared me he is the true defention of badass with his sick training and the attitude he had that he backed up every dam time he would tell you he was going to kick your ass and do it everytime just as bad as he says he would. Now everytime I see a dude named Marvin I think well I wont fuck with him thats for sure.

...............I guess that's part of what I liked. He was my first boxing hero, and I actually got to meet him once, when he was still champ back in '86.
You could put him in an Armani suit, have him carry around a briefcase, and dump him off on Wall Street in a huge limo and you'd still think he was a fighter. He was simply born to do that, and I appreciate that purity of spirit.
