maybe im wrong here but i think that Sky are going to practially have a lot more boxing than Setanta.Yes setanta are saying the home of boxing but here is what i understand it to be:

Sky

Sports Network;20 shows including 4 of them to be PPV
frank Maloney promotions:just singed adeal for the next 2 years for at least 20 shows (rumoured)
Barry hearn:coverage of there figters at least another year

Setanta

top rank fights until the end of the year
Calzaghe v RJJ in november
David Haye's next four fights
'Hayemakers promotions' next 10 cards (each one to include thougha british title fight)

now with hennesy supposed to be going to itv that seems it.now it looks good on paper but after this year ends all your gureented to get with setanta is David Haye and his haymaker promotions card's and that is really it.setanta may sign another deal with top rank

so it would apear to me ky will have a fair bit of boxing ove the next few years.

sky is all domestic plus hatton, u pay £20 for sky sports, plus £15 for any world title fights.

setanta is £10 only, and its not just fights, they have an hour long programme dedicated to boxing every week, and talk about all boxing, not just stuff they have rights for.

i know inthe sens of the boxing hour, which is good to have but i just think hte potential lack of fights ;i pay the subscription mostly for the boxing (and im not complaing currently about tthe value cause it is good)

Your overlooking the fact Setanta also show all UFC cards live. Which holds big appeal for alot of fight fans.

Setanta easily. I much more interested in the likes of Margarito, Cotto, Pacquiao, Marquez etc than Frank ******'s crappy stable and Ricky Hatton.

Setanta take pride in showing boxing- Sky clearly couldn't give a shite and have little knowledge of the sport thus we have a horrendous mismatch on ppv.

Setanta is much better value - the subscription recently went up to about £13 a month - but then its all free - no box office stuff - big fights - racing UK - its worth it - Sky are to keen to cash in on any marketabilty fights and make them box office

Hatton has stuck to Sky cos they make his fights pay per view and he gets a slice

a total rip off - pay subscription for something - and then you still have to pay extra for certain events

Stetanta have been good for Sport

they have provided better value than Sky and stolen many big fights and fighters and promoters away from Sky which is good

but they all linked up some way anyway

but this latest ****** box office show is a complete joke and rip off - the man is a piss taker and sky are a disgrace for going along with it

Setanta seem to care about boxing and get all the big cards from America. Plus it only costs £13 a month and is great value for your money.

THis Khan/****** deal shows that Sky are only interested in the money. They don't give a shit about the sport and put the big name fighters they have (Khan and Hatton) on PPV to make as much money as they can out of them.

thats pretty much the truth of the situation

I think FW changes the card from a PPV to a normal one as a publicity stunt to try a shif the viewers back to sky!!!

I can definetly say that I will not be watching Khan fight again. ****** has no other fighters that he could put on ppv so the ppv foghts must be purely Amir Khan.

I just hope we still get to see weekly boxing. I do not mind which channel shows it.

Its gotta be Setanta...
Not only have we got Calzaghe v Roy Jones coming up, but Nate Campbell V Joan Guzman (both of whom would KO Khan)...The Hayemaker making his debut at heavyweight (hopefully against Toney) plus the added potential of other fights still to be listed...
Even for the cost of one Sky PPV event, you get a whole months worth of setanta which seems to have so far included at least two boxing cards per month, the UFC, aussie rugby league etc (which includes its fair share of fights anyways)...

If I did not have my super duper satellite box I would go for setanta. As it happens the germans and poles show most the big fights and you can watch these with a patched sat box.

This is a bit of a dilemma in the midst of the credit crunch! At the moment Setanta are winning the boxing battle. Can't believe the sept 6 show with Khan and Arthur is ppv on Sky Box Office. From reading ******'s site it seems Khan's deal is exclusively with Sky Box Office so looks like he won't be on regular Sky Sports

i dunno.i do like watching the big american fights however i really do like the domestic matches.i know some of them can be a mismatch however i do feel iget more out of it when i see someone who ive watched come through the ranks (ala appleby) and it annoys me know that sky basically have the monopoly on this.

from my perspective if i want to watch arthur, appleby, barry morrison, kevin mcintyre, and mcalister (i know there all scottish but there my main intrest) ihave to go and get a sky dish .

its a total monoply is it not.

Lets just be honest here folks, being a boxing fan on these shores is a complete pain in the ass, isnt it?

Fuck SKy & Setanta. Neither of them deserve praise for the way they treat us few boxing fans who are left as a financial banquet to feast upon.

Do these two have any initiatives to attract the future fan? Do they fuck. They just want to leech upon the remaining fight fans like us until there is nothing left.

Fuck giving either of these PPV bloodsucking monsters credit.

I've got setanta1 through that BT vision sports package thing and it's ok as all the big stuff is on set1 anyway. I do miss some of the domestic stuff having got rid of sky, but I don't miss Jim Watt.
Might try and get a live stream for the box office stuff (worked a treat for the hatton fight).

Looking forward to the Haye fights, just hope he doesn't get banged out 1st fight, that'd be the biggest bubble bursting since the Hindenberg disaster!

Setanta are still winning for me and the Fantastic Cotto Margarito fight confirmed it!

Good job he doesn't have to pay American PPV rates eh Tuffie

I think between Sky, Setanta and ITV we've had a cracking service the last year or two, loads and loads of fights

setanta are better.

sky get the better domestic fights which have recently been pretty good, but worldwide fights are a rarity. Recent big fights on sky have been hatton and cotto (against a very limited gomez, very one-sided) while setanta have had potentially the fight of the year (cotto - margo) one of the most highly anticipated british fights in years (haye - macca) and many other fights that rate higher than sky's.
