I was told that I don't take long enough strides, but I have found this difficult to fix. Is the best way to go about doing this to just start out by takeing longer strides wile at the grocery store or walking through my house, and building it up to being able to run like this?

..........:huh

Who the hell told you that?

I would seriously question this advice, though it's of course hard to tell having never seen you run.

What are you trying to accomplish with your running? If it's just general fitness, what does it matter? If your trying for more speed, then leg turnover is the key, not length of stride.

Do you have any way to upload a shot of you running? I mean, unless you totally mince you steps, this sounds like bullshit advice.

.........Hmmm. Okay. If it's just for fitness, then I don't see the point of him saying that, but without seeing you run, I can't really comment.
