Feel free to ask. I can help answer questions about antioxidant's, teas from green tea to kombucha, juicing(fruits and vegetables not roids), detox/cleansing. If I can't answer your question I can easily look it up.:good

what do you think of these colon cleanse detox kits. do they actually work or are they more harmful then anything.
and...
all these bagged dried fruits are they good for a snack or are they just loaded with sugar.
my goal is to lose about 3 kg. what foods are best to lose weight
cheersIf you want to do a detox one of the more popular ones is the "Master Cleanse". It's a very hard one to do, considering you don't eat wile your on it. As for ther prepakeged I would look at the ingredients to make sure it is something that will be healthy and not just some generic laxative.
As for the dried fruit, try and finding some that have no added sugar, and mix them up with granola and almonds to have as a snack.
As for the loosing weight, your bloodtype will have alot to do with wich foods best suit your needs.

:huh
Explain.Basically different blood types react to certain foods. For example an O blood type tends to require more proteins, A does better off of vegetables ect.

Flax, oils. Glucosamine, controitin, fish oils are good for ligaments and joints.

I appreciate you helping people (because I might have a future question), but I've spent a lot of time in the past year learning about nutrition and training and eating depending on your blood type is nothing more than a fad. They actually recommend to never have some of these things: meat, chicken, dairy, Carboyhydrates, and for one of the blood types (forget which); they actually suggested for them to become vegetarians. Just eat a healthy balanced diet that includes carbs, proteins, and fats... don't drastically decrease any of them.

I do however think it will have more staying power then other fad diets due to the fact that you have more options. For example the anoying Atkins diet had their own brand of foods that tasted like cardboard, and bread companies cut bread slices thinner called it lo carb and made god knows how much money.

Vegeterian is really bad for boxing in general, unless you have a serious replacement for all those proteins, or if your trying to cut some muscle(but why would you do that).

I read somewhere that everything high on anti-inflammants and anti-oxydants helps a lot, because it's often an inflammation that makes a joint hurt. Fish oil, but also flax, hemp, sesame, sunflower, etc. Almonds, hazelnuts, etc. Blackberries, elderberries, currants, blueberries, strawberries, cherries, grapes, acai, etc. Spinach, kale, cauliflower, sprouts, cabbage, radishes, etc. Garlic. Tomatoes. Some spices like cinnamon, turmeric, mustard.
Knock yourself out. Available in your local supermarket :D

This isn't necessarily true. The only meat I eat is a bit of tuna or other fish maybe once a week, if at all. I had a blood profile and it showed that my protein and iron levels were actually very high. I don't take supplements either, I just eat a balanced diet. Young guys, especially on this board, are protein obsessed. They think they need far more than they actually do to be healthy and strong.

how is it a balanced diet if you eat meat once a week, what is your definition of a balanced diet?

A diet that gives you all the nutrients you need to be healthy. Meat isn't the only protein source on earth.

obviously, but its hard to imagine having high protein levels while only eating meat once a week.

The lab must have messed up my blood sample then.

Wouldn't that depend on how much protein she gets from other sources? :think
Meat isn't needed to get enough protein, but it helps in getting the full range of amino acids since it's a very complete source of protein.

That would make sense, she's not a bodybuilder nor does she currently have huge amounts of muscle to maintain.

:hey
That would make sense, she's not a bodybuilder nor does she currently have huge amounts of muscle to maintain. I'm a boxer, not a body builder. Besides, I like my kidneys too much to overload it with an excess of unnecessary protein.
:hey  :smooch
You need to lift weights, drink 7 protein shakes a day and take creatine if you want to win fights Amy. That oldschool shit you're on isn't working :-(

Yeah, it obviously hasn't gone well so far. :-( Despite the fact that she has more fights and more wins than probably anyone else in this section.

Whats your other sources of protein then??
There are numerous sources of protein for vegetarians. Nuts, pulses, dairy. There are 25g of protein in 100g of lentils, 20g of protein in a tin of beans. Not to mention protein supplements like whey. Bernard Hopkins is a vegetarian and it hasn't hampered his career, but you do have to be more disciplined to ensure you get a balanced diet when being a vegetarian.
