Rivera brings another hard hitting prospect down to earth.
Is it time to recognise just how hard Zab Judah can hit?

Hell yeah..thats one thing about him that was not overrated.that left hand..The Judah Uppercut...is no joke..I mean that is about of Patent of punch that you will see..Nobody throws that punch like him..speed and power...Judah...has a whole lot of snap..and you can see the power in it...You seen bertos punches having some fling but he was trying too hard and it did not come natural...he looked pathetic going for the knocout from round 1..at least judah looked good doing it..cause he does the same thing.

There is 2 things that you can't argue with about Judah. He has as devastating a left hand as I have ever seen and he has amazing speed. Don;t forget he was also the only one able to finish off Corry spinks.
It's all the other shit that's wrong with him that kept him from being great.

He's the only guy to stop Rivera.
Judah has all the tools to be ATG, he's just missing some of the intangibles.

Everybody knows Zab can bang that isnt a seceret, I mean look at how he also handed Rangel his ass, the same guy who went to war with Emanuel Augustus.
The problem with Zab is what happens to him when he is pressured, when he is getting hit back, he melts down.

I've always said he was a hell of a KO puncher.. speed+timing+accuracy = a hell of a shot.
What I don't get are all these clowns who defend Berto's shaky jaw and then bash Cotto as being suspect, when he was stunned by Judah's perfect left uppercut a few times but shook it off, when Rivera was blasted out in 3 rounds, and Rivera has a pretty solid chin IMO.
Berto doesn't though, he'll be KOed at the top tier.

Berto hits harder than Judah.
He just had trouble catching that mother fucker flush.
Judah is also a fuckin southpaw.
There are many different variables to consider.
Berto would have been more successful if he broke Rivera down first.

Berto didn't go to the body nearly enough for my liking. All said a solid effort in his first real step up iun class.

Judah doesn't hit THAT hard. His speed allows him to get in shots that other people wouldn't land as well.
Judah does NOT hit harder than Berto...but however Judah's greater speed and timing will allow him to land more unseen shots, which are the KO shots...more power doesn't always mean better puncher...

I think he'll be good man.
I'd like to feel his power.
I want to see how hard he can hit.
Speed is power. Zan can hit! Rivera is a good fighter, fringe of world class maybe, but Zab is true World class and that showed when they fought.

No one doubted Judah Ko power and his speed that helped him deliver.
Judah did to Spinks what Taylor Couldnt.
Thi Rivera guy, even that guy he stopped in the first round. Looking at his record he had some losses to good hitters but not as fast!
I think it has to do with Judah speed more than raw power.
yet Taylor hits about 10 times harder than Zab Judah

Judah hits hard, I'm sure no one will disagree here. He hurt Cotto bad in that fight but because of his stupidity he didn't take any advantage at all.

Judah hit Rivera flush out of the southpaw stance. A different boxer completely from Berto.
It's dumb to say that these are comparable because it's apples and oranges. Berto has a swarming style that is more similar to Shane Mosely. He comes at you almost squared up looking to unload with hooks from left and right sides. Judah comes at you behind your orthodox jab with straight lefts and is far more elusive.
Rivera is a game vet who knows his way around the ring. His being blown out by Judah was just a testament to how hard it is to avoid the fast lefty who comes behind a jab. Ask Waldo how hard that is to deal with, or Vitlay for that matter.
It never gets old to say, but styles do make fights.
I stopped reading there.

I'm about ready to put questions about Cotto's chin to bed also. You don't walk through Zab's best shots without having a solid one. On the other hand, Berto has yet to look remotely as rocked as Cotto did against Corley or Torres. That uppercut Rivera landed was about as clean a counter as you will see, and Berto got up, was clear headed, and proceeded to batter Rivera for his trouble.
Would Berto have shaken off the same punch from Zab last night? Doubtful. But then again, neither would Cotto have two years ago. I'm definitely not going to write off Berto's chin after one glorified flash knockdown. If anything I'm impressed with how he responded, the same way I was impressed with how Cotto showed the ability to recover when he was hurt.

I'm just trying to figure out what the posters saying Berto hits harder than Zab are basing it on? :huh Maybe his physique? But anyway, as big as I am on Berto, I don't really see him being as big of puncher as he's being made out to be. The boy can bang no doubt. But he falls more in to the heavy handed category, wearing cats down with his strength and workrate. Zab's power comes from not only his freakish handspeed, but his accuracy and the snap on his punches. He has the power to starch cats with a single punch. Berto couldn't even drop Rivera with his best shots, when Judah had him on queer street damn near everytime he landed flush. I think it's as clear as day who hits the hardest. I say Judah's straight left at 147 is the most lethal punch in the division behind Kermit Cintron's right hand and left hook (don't sleep on his hook..he put Matthysse out with it and finished Suarez with it).

He's arguably the hardest puncher in the division, though, Cintron edges it.

Cotto's uspect chin was due to dehydration, he took Judah best in the first 4 rounds of the fight, and in the 6 andhe was able to handle the power....Judah;s power always got me concern against Cotto...
Judah's problems we all know , is not his talents as a boxer but his mental aptitute...

I've always defended Zab Judah's position, even with all of the negativity against him, I will support him through his new attempt at it. I am not a fan even, but I have always enjoyed his fights and he can give a lot of guys trouble.
He showed a warrior's heart in his last fight. If Cotto can't spark him out flat, neither can overrated guys like Berto and Josh Clottey.

I suspect that Berto looks like he punches much harder than he actually does, like many fighters with his muscular body type.
