I dont think so, Vernon can crack and he knows how to use that Jab, there is no way Baldimor wins this fight, Honestly if Floyd can pot shot with the jab all night and beat him, Forrest will knock his head back all night with the jab, infact I think Vernon might be able to knock him out, this is if Carlos doesnt get cut badly first

Yes., he will put alot of pressure and will be in Vernon's face for full 12 rounds.

Baldomir has NO chance to win unless some fluke injury happens.

I am going with The Viper, for the same reasons that Bazooka listed. I think a lot of people who are picking Baldo are doing so because of the belief that Forrest is close to being shot. I think Vernon still has something left and will get the win. And that's not a slam on Baldo, for whom I have great respect.

It depends, is this the Vernon who took a suspect decision against Quartey, or is it the guy who manhandled Mosley?

Even if that Vernon shows up he will still win, Ike can crack much harder than Baldimor can and that is what will be the difference here.

I"ll say this. I doubt either fighter is going to get KOd in this one. Forrest because he has the range to keep Baldo off of him, and Baldomir because he doesn't get KOd.

Kind of reminds me of before Baldomir fought Judah. And Gatti. Both times he had no chance.

Baldomir has no knockout power and a sturdy set of whiskers... I doubt this fight will end early.

Bingo. Forrest would have to be completely shot for this limited regional journeyman to win. Most likely he'll get embarrrased, just like he did against Floyd.

Apparently Baldomir was not given any credit for kickin Judah's ass and destroying Gatti. Floyd Mayweather didnt embarass Baldo, he embarassed himself, people started walking out from the fight because he was running laps.

Baldo has a real chance to win, and in fact, im picking him to win a decision.

Well its hard to judge his win over Gatti at this point seeing Gomez beat him even worse but Gatti did dominate a decent fighter in Damgaard heading into this fight :huh

baldomir is the glen johnson of the welters. stopped gatti and made judah do all types of shit, gave clottey a tough time.

he has grown up the old school latino way fight anyone anywhere and learn the trade he did and he is doing very well.

but my problem is how small baldo is compared to forrest thats the only thing that gives it away.

a ud by forrest but a hearty showing

Baldomir has NO chance to win unless some fluke injury happens.

I agree Lance here, if Forrest gets some bad shoulder injury and has to forfeit, that's Baldi's best shot.

However, Forrest could win this one on his jab alone. Baldomir's an overrated gate keeper because he blasted out Gatti in 9 and got a win over a Judah who didn't even train and was up for 24 hours straight, losing every single round to Floyd, and a Floyd with a broken hand past round 5 gives me no indication that he can jump up in weight and lose a size advantage and then beat a crafty vet in Forrest.

Baldo was a journeyman for a long damn time, he's now back to that level.

Quartey applied better pressure with more power than Baldomir, and still didn't get the nod over Forrest...Forrest easy UD over Baldomir...

Yes, and Quartey even at this point is 5x the competitor in comparison to Baldi, even though he had a close one with Verno Phillips and lost his last two(I had him edging Forrest, but it was close). A close one with Quartey shows he's still top 10 IMO.

I wouldn't count Baldomir out, but Forrest has the advantage in power, athleticism, size, and technical skill. If he uses those advantages and fights smart, he should come out with a comfortable decision and the WBC 154 pound strap.

This is a fight between two opportunistic past champions. The only guy Forrest ever beat was Mosely (two good wins, don't get me wrong) and Baldo beat Judah and a washed up, overrated Gatti. I just hope the fight is semi-entertaining.

I think Baldomir has the size, strength and aggression to keep Forrest on the backfoot long enough to win rounds, but I see why Forrest is the clear favorite. Im leaning towards Baldomir, b/c hes fought better recently than Forrest has recently.

He also lost every round to his last opponent, one whom broke his hand in the 5th.

Lost 3 rounds or so against Gatti, whom an averagr fighter in Gomez won every minute of the fight a year later.

Won by 1 or 2 points against an underprepared, untrained Judah.

Doesn't impress me. Let's also bring up his draw vs. a very mediocre fighter in Cruz...:yep

I think people are selling Baldo short here he has better boxing skills than people are willing to give him credit for. While I think Forrest will win Baldo will make a fight of it and if Forrest's old arm injury flares up he could be in trouble. One thing is for sure one will be the next WBC belt holder.:yep

Forrest isn't the same guy who beat SHane, but he's still miles above Baldomir. Forrest is 6' with a big reach advantage. And he knows how to use it. Baldomir's shorter and wasn't even a big WW, and while technically sound, was NOT close to the hitter Forrest was @ 147.

I'm a HUGE Forrest fan, but with only one hand I don't know if he can keep the limited but totally relentless Baldomir at bay. Prime Forrest destroys Baldomir any day, but the one that fought Quartey was very lucky that Quartey hangs back late in fights and allows the other guy to survive. Quartey fought like total shit that fight (as did Forrest) but Baldomir won't make that same contract. He'll force Forrest to fight and with one hand, I don't know if he can do it.

I would love, LOVE to see the old Forrest in there tonight because he can make a lot of noise at 154, but I suspect we'll never see it again.

I think Forrest has the advantage. Forrest is alot taller and I think will be able to fight on the outside & control the fight with his jab.Baldomir is a bit plodding and has much ground to cover to get on the inside were he can be effective, and has to slip the jab. At the same time tough , the two Mayorga fights should be in the back of everyones mind.

How a fighter dominates Mosley twice, but then loses twice to Mayorga I will never understand.

You could be right. I would prefer Baldomir to win as I like him better, but think Forrest has the edge.

Besides Baldomir is a recent Floyd Mayweather opponent, and all his recent opponents have been getting destroyed lately. Like Gatti, Judah, Castillo, Mitchell, Corley.

Baldo is going to stop Forrest. Somewhere in the 10th round. Baldo is a tough fighter. Very strong. He will wear down Forrest who will look good in the first few rounds. But eventually Baldy's strentgh will prevail.

I dont give Baldomir much of a chance tonight. I think his nice little run as a surprise top fighter, if you can call him that, is over. Forrest should win anywhere from 9-possibly every round. Baldomir won't make it easy but ultimately his is simply not in Forrest''s class, even the current version of the "Viper". I'll watch but this is definitly not a fight I have been looking foward to. Hope I'm wrong but this will probably be boring, uninteresting, and lacking drama. Forrest by d
