From Welterweight to Heavyweight!...

Reasonable start to his heavyweight career, beating Jeremy Bates and Zack Page (both better than the Marcus Rhodes of this world).

Can he have any impact on the division?

Not likely. How on earth a 6ft 4 guy makes 47 il never know. How on earth he puts on over 60lbs and becomes a heavy il never know .. guess thats why he got busted for asteroid abuse a while back.

Like all the other guys that moved up from smaller weights, if he can take the punch he will beat alot of heavys. He will have the skill advantage over everyone he fights at heavy, cuz they all suck. Problem is how does he carry the weight, I havent seen Jones fight since he whipped Braithwaite almost two years ago. Some of these guys look like slugs when they go up to heavyweight. Being forced to move up cuz they are to lazy to train.

let us see him fight, then you will know. That's just it. I have seen jones fight as well as ever viable heavyweight today, and like i said jones is more skilled then every single on of those heavyweights, including Wlad. Not to say that he will win fights with those guys. That is why i asked the question about how he looks in terms of does he look like a heavyweight Toney, or a Heavyweight Roy jones???

Jones/Toney or Jones/Thompson, I say he has a chance to beat both

He has done the Mickey Walker itinerary. :rofl

Jones was a Welterweight, Jr Middleweight (were he drew with Laurent Boudani), Super Middleweight, Light Heavyweight, Cruiserweight (drew with Johnny Nelson, defeated Kelvin Davis and Wayne Braithwaite) and Heavyweight.

Of course, G. Jones never won World Titles and didn't beat as many great fighters as Mickey Walker did. :yep :yep :D

Walker started at Welterweight and won the World Title, then went to Middleweight, then went to Light Heavyweight and won the World Title there, then went to Heavyweight and was a contender for a while.
