I'd Think so I only use 14oz sparring gloves. As long as you wrap youre hands well u should be fine.

The different weights of gloves are

-14 oz
-16 oz
-18 oz

What is each type of glove used for and by whom?

Using a pair of 16 ounce gloves on the bag decently often will compress them over time, and sort of effectively make them harder - if you're going to spar with them also, be aware of that.

you could use like 7 ounce gloves on the bag and be fine.

16 is more than enough.

14oz is the general size for bag gloves.

16oz for sparring. Anything lower is for a fight, mitt work, or double ended bag work.

Personally I feel Ringside makes a better product than Everlast I own a pair of ultimate bag gloves from Ringside They are 16oz high quality bad gloves. 16 ounce bag gloves are great for your conditioning, because your body gets used to the extra weight, so once you go to fight and put on those 10 or 12 ounce gloves on, your hands will feel like lightning. Also keep in mind most gyms make guys spar with 16 oz gloves anyway so it will helpin that respect also. However, if you are just getting back into shape of are new to boxing, you should start out with 12 ounce gloves on the bag until you are in better condition and work yourself into shape until you ae ready for the 16 0z bag gloves

Ringside equipment is far superior to everlast, I agree.

I use 16s for everything.
