How to find a trainer?

Hey there,
I live in the Durham NC area and although there are a variety of gyms offering cardio boxing, I don't know how to find someone offering real boxing instruction. My current gym claims to, but truth is, we never really get to sparring and instruction still emphasizes the workout value and not progressing in boxing. I've googled my area but haven't hit on anything. Any ideas? Is there a directory online somewhere of trainers around the counry?
Thanks for any info. I enjoy reading the training advice in these threads.

i trained in greensboro for a while. it was a good ride from Burlington where I stayed. Im in Va now where there are 10 clubs within walkin distance. And all are serious boxing gyms.
