How do you see Kickett going against these guys...
Domestic:
1. Nedal Hussein
2. Lenny Zappa
International
1. Monty Meza Clay
2. Malcolm Klassen (an interesting one, this guy beat St Clair by SD)

Jury's still out for me on Kickett but I'd like to think he gets through an inactive past prime Skinny.
Not sold on Zappa either he needs a good chin with his style which Im not sure he has, likewise he could probably test Willy's beard if he connected.
Seen a little of Clay, looks a big powerful sfw but slowish and could be in trouble against a quick in and out fighter.
Havent seen Klassen, any footage around?
I think your chosen fighters all have power as an underlying strength and I would like to see Kickett tested against this style of fighter before im convinced.

kickett beats them all. the jury isnt out amongst wise judges of boxing talent. listening to those that know, the mail is willie is the real deal....
bashes chris john in the gym.....what more you want from a 12 fight novice...?

more important on how he gets up after getting kd...
if you look at history. all the best fighters were kd at some time or other. what set them apart was that they fought on...often harder. it wasnt that long ago when what were considered great fighters had lost many times in their careers. they also fought nearly evey month.
kicketts chin wouldnt be too bad. chris john must land sometimes in the gym.....that is, when willie isnt bashing him....

chris john isnt exactly what id call a big puncher though, him and st clair are both relatively feather fisted

I havent seen Cool Willie bash any1 yet let alone a respected World champ.
I have seen him outbox people(mostly duds) but never bash.

Ok mate.
When Willy 1st entered the gym he was regularly taken to school by Chris John.
However as time has gone on Willy has gotten a tonne better & gradually the contests have become more & more even.
In recent times Willy has hurt Chris a couple of times...but i wouldnt say he bashes him regularly or anything like that.
The spars are now very very competitive with not much separating either.
Willy prob has held a slight edge.
Willy u have to remember is the naturally slightly bigger boxer too.

Skinny has been one of my local favs for ages, it was painful to see him get bashed in his last fight.
Dont think his heart is in it anymore and I wouldnt want to see him in there with Kickett.
Most people think Willies smashes Lenny. I think people underrate Lenny a bit and a lot of that has to do with the fact he has been moved a long a lot slower than Willie. I still think Kickett get the nod on points but it would be a very exciting fight.
Never seen Klassen but must be alright to beat St Claire, and there was no complaints from St Claire about the decision either.
Meza Clay is a bit of an ask right now. His only loss was to quite a good fighter and that was in a classic.
He is a little pocket rocket but I like Willie's chances of keeping him at bay with his outside style, just not now. I think Willie needs a few longer fights under his belt and longer fights where is he getting worked.

I heard on the 2sm boxing show that Darchinyan's manager was planning on taking Willie Kickett with him on Vic Darchinyan's world title fight vs Mijares. I think it would be good to get Willie some world exposure on such a big card. I think Vic manager took Willie to the Philipines when Vic fought Gorres?!?
Does anyone know anything bout Vic manager, he seems to be totally out of media exposure but seems to have some serious pull overseas with the big promoters. Is he connected or related to Mundines manager ? ??????

View the Calzaghe v Lacy fight to see how not to rush a fighter with poptential , i think Mr Shaw learned a great deal about putting blokes in with class to back HIS mouth up in that one lol fucking quality seeing him signal to Birmingham to throw the towel in with 8 seconds remaing in the bout , i turned to shaw and winked he was fucking livid .:rofl

Elias is a great manager for Darchinyan...helped him out greatly.
Willy should take the opportunity to fight on a big undercard in the US...however he may have slightly other plans at this stage.

There was an article not long after Vic's last fight that said the fight was all but signed and sealed, straight left.
Mijaires has a defence this weekend, which is just about a mere formality. Actually a terrible mismatch which could see the other guy hurt, but thats another story.
After that it should be on, Kegs was saying not long ago Mijaries' promoter was pushing it to be on T.V.

Klassen is the biggest fly in the ointment for Willie on that list IMO although Zappa could be interesting. Malcolm has a whole bag of tricks and whilst not being a puncher he is very tricky - ignore the dissenting vote Klassen ran rings around Gairy that night.
Vic's manager Elias Nasser is no relation to Khoder; he is the brother of Jamal Vic's strength and conditioning coach and a very cluey bloke as well as being a gent

In order for Kicket v Zappa to occur, both camps need to agree on the weight at which they will fight. I'm hearing Kicket wants the fight at 59kg and Lenny wants 61kg.
Atleast they are talking. It's a start.

Zappa was well under Lightweight last night anyways.
I couldnt see how 60kg would be an issue.

Probably accurate to say that the scales used for last nights show were not accurate. lol
Lenny has a fight on his hands to get to 61kg. Better that you believe Lenny was closer to 63.4 kg the other night at the weigh in.

I thought it was funny Couser weighed in 20 pounds less than his last fight and that was only a month ago.
Awad dropped about the same in a month.
Even Sol was at his lightest since before he took that break off.

Cerniza was 60.8. He wouldn't make that if he chopped off a leg. lol

or u could look at it this way, they are all young, have a three way life long war, all fight each other now, then maybe 3 years later , like the old days, whenever they needed a fight , just call one another out............... im dreamin but i love the sound of it

Im hearing the bulid it up arguement and I understand where its coming from.
But I heard that a year ago, back then they wanted to build it up for a fight about now, now its going be next year, then how long? They could all loose by then and we could be robbed of a fight when all 3 are young, unbeaten and hungry, which can be the best time to see these types of fights. And can be the best time for them to happen, a loss doesnt mean the end of the world when you young and coming up.
Dib wont fight either for just about anything right now. I think he expects bigger things to happen for him, even though he is very lucky that winning a minor title has happened for him at all.
I do think Wille wants Zapp and Zapp wants Willie but there are obviously some snags. Lenny isnt ranked by any of the major bodies, Willie is about to be ranked relatively high in a division that Lenny says he cant make. So I guess you can see why Willie would be wary to risk that by fighting at Lenny's weight.
A while back, with Lenny's am pedigree, Lenny had the better resume. Now it is firmly in Willie's favour with his last two victories.
My preference, as fan, is have for each to have two or three more fights each at the most and then get it on early 09. Before the footy seasons start so as to get a wider audience. Thats still nearly 6 months away.
By then who knows what Dib will be doing..a loss puts him in the picture. More wins I think he will price himself out and look to lift his profile elsewhere

I never saw this coming. I didn't even know Willy was on the card.
I guess Kickets camp and Jamie Myer Promotions had some work to do to find an opponent and that's why it came out of the blue...other than Ippy giving us the heads up and checking boxrec, I wouldn't have even known Kicket was fighting.
