caffeine pills would b better
but make sure u take in loadsa water
moderate amounts probably won't hurt you. A cup or two in the morning, but in excess it's not good for weight loss...or so says Dr. Phil.

First rule of thumb is never take diet advice from Dr. Phil. He looks like a bloated ostrich. Coffee is a great anti-oxidant, revs up your metabolism and caffeine is one of the most studied and BEST ergogenic aids. Recently they did studies on cyclists who drank coffee before their races matched up against ones that didn't and the coffee drinkers greatly outperformed the other group.

I ran my first 5k this summer and I was the only one who showed up at the starting line with a cup of coffee. Everyone was jogging around and sipping water and here I was standing there drinking hot coffee when it was already 80 degrees out. I finished 4th though. :conf

Congratulations on your top 5 placing. It probably wasn't the coffee that gave you the edge though lol. But it might have helped!

People will say anything to justify a loss.

People will say anything to justify a loss. True, but you have to admit the excuse Vinny Paz gave for the Jones loss was an all-time classic!:bbb

ok, coffee's kinda odd when it comes to weight. drinking it on its own will help you lose weight, however with a meal, it turns carbs n some protien into lipids (fats).

I always have a cup of coffee in the morning, and later drink regular water throughout the day. I saw a video of Ricardo Mayorga training for his fight against Fernando Vargas and before his workout he would have a very small cup of what I would imagine is pretty potent coffee. So I think as long as its not in excess and you don't use it to substitute sufficient rest for the energy you need, drink up.

Diurectic is my new favorite word. Gotta see how often I can use it in normal conversation.

I second that. Before training I used to drink a cup of coffee with glucose(instead of sugar). For the 1st 45mins of training Id be flying by once the second half of the session came around or if I'd done a hard few rounds on the pads I'd start feeling dizzy and my vision would go blurry. So now I only drink Coffee after meals( it makes me shit like a muthafucka) and then IsoTonic drinks before training:bbb

It is fine. In the acute it may raise blood pressure but in moderation there should not be long term trouble.
It acts as an appetite suppressant but can cause a paradoxical effect in some people and make them crave sweets.
Do not put anything in your coffee.
