View Full Version : Forrest Vs DLH
I don't think its too soon to look beyond baldi now (now watch forrest get ko'd in the last round...)
Is Forrest Vs De La Hoya the biggest possible fight at Light Middleweight right now?
How would you see the fight going?

Oscar wins a close decision. If Baldo can hit Forrest and stun him, I believe DLH skill and power will carry him through. Forrest does have a chance, and I will not argue with those who feel he can win.
I think DLH could take Forrest, but I'd rather see Forrest fight another champ, Simms perhaps.

I could see Forrest vs. Stinks, or Forrest vs. Winky. Don't think DLH would fight him, but it could be interesting though. I'd like to see Baldomir against Ouma myself, but that probably won't happen.

Forrest vs. Winky
Didn't Emanuel say Vernon would beat Winky

Forrest.
De La Hoya just dont have it any more. Oscar has lost 3 out of his last 5 fights, arguably 4 out of 5, as many think Sturm beat him as well. Obviously Oscar is fighting against great opposition, but he keeps losing.

Many thought Sturm beat him, but many thought DLH beat Mosley the 2nd time.
I think Emanuel is forgetting that Winky was fighting at 170 lbs plus he didn't look in real great shape. In shape Winky at 154 lbs would beat Forrest.

At 154, and especially at 160:yep

i believe Forrest can get even sharper than he was tonite...he was coming off a year layoff and shook off the rust against Baldomir...i don't know if Winky could make 154 still, but if he could Forrest/Winky would be pretty good...

Forrest would be ODH worst nightmare.he never fought a tall rangy fighter with a better jab and better timing then him..ODH avoided Forrest like the plague.. NO WAY ODH wins that fight past or present..

De La Hoya would never fight Forrest. He ducked him back in 02. And now the fight holds no significance. Forrest isnt the fighter he used to be. So I would expect DLH to take it. But he does fade after only 6 rounds so Forrest will have a chance.

you think de la hoya really ducked him? you don't think mayorga handing him his ass twice had something to do with it? in 2001-2002 oscar was going for the wba and wbc 154 titles. forrest had to do a bit more after beating mosley b2b to force a fight and he lost immediately to mayorga and blew his chance. i agree stylistically he would've been hell for oscar, but i don't think oscar ducked him and i point to oscar's record of fighting the very best and give him the benefit of the doubt
Oscar said something about how fighting Forrest during that time was not in his best interest because Forrest would be a risky fight and he wasnt very well known. It was all over the news because Oscar had also made the comment about how African Americans didnt take punches well to the body. It was the same interview. Around '01/'02.

And then fate sends DLH a big bad African American aka B-Hop to deliver a body shot to Oscar.

Oh yeah, dammit :rofl :rofl :rofl
But yeah, I'm always up for unification

Oscar would have to knock Forrest out to get a split decision! However, Oscar would knock Forrest out, no doubt about that one. Forrest was given a title tonight. Baldomir had never even fought in that division, yet they made a fight between he and Forrest for the title, boxing has be be the most crooked sport ever!

the only 'title' that matters today is the Linear...and Linear is "the man who beat THE MAN"

DLH would beat Forrest, i think DLH should probably consider a fight wit forrest after tonight to close out 2007 and stay sharp for his next bout in '08.

NEWSFLASH, Baldobum makes fighters look good. DLH would beat Forrest no problem. BTW Quartey beat forrest in '06 no reason to believe DLH wouldnt either.

But Mosley had just beat DLH, the first clear defeat of Oscar's career, and Forrest schooled him the first time and comfortably beat him again to show it wasn't a fluke. I don't see why Forrest shouldn't have earned his pass to fight Oscar.
