I noticed there was a lot of Hopkins bashing and even some Wright bashing going on tonight. Larry Merchant especially.

Yea, and Chris Byrd and and Lamon Brewster's Uncle Byrd the referee was extremely biased against Hopkins also. The same Uncle Byrd who helped to keep Vlad's from winning the fight against his dear family member.

The fight was a lot better than Hopkins/Wright.

Merchant in the recent years has become unprofessional, period. Lampley is a guy who is overrated when it comes to commentating. They really don't seem to care about the sport and just seem to care about nuthugging on HBO housefighters.

I like Larry, but he has his flaws and he can piss me off at times. I don't really care much for Lampley - he has a good voice and he is good with the blow by blow. I would rather have Tessitore and Bernstein, but they are not great personalities like Merchant and Lampley.

Merchant just sounds like a jaded rambling drunk nowadays. His time has past. Lampley just needs to do his job. Opinions are like assholes, and nobody want to smell everybodies asshole.

merchant expects every fight to be gatti-ward and if its not he shows no interest

hbo shouldnt have kept him at this point kellerman is more enthusiastic and professional and he asks the questions the fans would ask e,g hattons response to jlc being past his prime, also ive noticed the sky sports commentators can make any fight sound good to watch while hbo just lose interest

They can hate on Hopkins all they want, in the end they will have to respect him no matter what.
