Liddell used to criticise Ortiz for fighting like he did against rashad , still ...at least Tito's fight ended in a draw. Not a brutal ko. Whether ortiz is washed up or not...he did better against Rashad than liddell ever could

Agreed. In hindsight -this makes Tito's showing against Evan's look better.

Ortiz has been looking alot better now that Forrest is the Champ and Evans killed Liddell.

Ever could? Hardly.

Liddell is the striker whose reflexes are more important. He is also the oldest.

I think Tito won that fight.

Evans thru a lucky punch! I don't buy Evans as a marquee MMA fighter, sorry mate! There are four or five guys out there who wouldn't make the same mistake as Liddel, also Evans is a total bore to watch.

He would have if he didn't grab the fence, was a 28-28 draw.

Tito also beat Forrest, which Page and Shogun couldn't do. Liddel was an AWFUL style matchup for Ortiz and Machida is just too good. But Ortiz isn't nearly as washed up as some people would have you believe as evidenced by Griffins and Rashads recent successes.

thing is These fighters are way better now than they were when they fought Tito. Evans stand up was not nearly that good even a fight ago. These fighters still got a lot of getting better to do yet too, should be exciting......
Ever could? Hardly.
Liddell led with an uppercut. He would of led with an uppercut had he not been "old" and still got KTFO.

He was outstriking Liddell that whole round before the knockout. Watch it again.

In all fairness, Evans is much improved from that Ortiz fight. At least I hope he is. LOL.

It wasnt a lucky punch. If it was than Liddell has lost to 2 lucky punches in the last 16 months.

I don't know about "ever could." I believe Liddell could do better at this age than he did when they met. The first round was a little better for Chuck, and he may have done better had he kept it boring. For years, everyone has known how to fight if you want to increase your odds in winning against Liddell. Liddell does not perform well as the aggressor, and your best chance to defeat him is by making him come to you. It just took a few years for opponents to begin facing him that way.
Ortiz performing better against Evans is more of a style issue. Liddell was forced into the uncomfortable roll of being the aggressor against a fighter with much faster hands in Evans. A fighter that has a wrestling background and would probably been very difficult for Chuck to take down if for some reason he actually believed in fighting that way.

You would also have to call about all of Chucks wins "lucky" too, it wasn't luck, there is a degree of chance in every punch/technique, but its not like Chuck slipped on a banana peel.

Chuck is predictable now. Evans did a great job of being a moving target, not sitting down and being a punching bag for Liddell's accurate but exceedingly low hands.
The fact is that Ortiz had every chance to beat Liddell and lacked the mental fortitude necessary to beat him.
Evans did.
