hatton will win a split decision in a rough and dirty fight ala duran against leonard. look back in history and u can always find a fight to match up to this one. I was right when i compared Cotto/Malignaggi to Chavez/Comacho and im right when i compare Hatton/Mayweather to Duran/Leaonrd. I know u queers who think u know the history of the sport better than the guys who were involved will come on and start telling me "dont ever compare hatton to duran blah blah blah" but imnot. im comparing the fight. its the same thing. hatton will crowd mayweather and mayweather will choose to stand and trade like leonard did becuase mayweather, like leonard, will be questioned all leading up to the fight on his pretty boy image and whether he is truly a FIGHTER.

thank you.

i can understand your point. i believe one main difference though is that Hatton isn't nearly as strong/powerful as a prime Duran was. He doesnt carry the same pop in his punches. With that said, I dont know if he can truly hurt mayweather, but I may be wrong. I would love to see him hurt mayweather badly, but I just dont think it's going to happen.

No way Jose.Mayweather will do with Hatton just what he's done with his previous 38 opponents.Wait for Hatton to lead, let the punches slide off his shoulders, and when he feels like it, fire off an accurate punch or two, and either skitter away or go back into his incredible defensive posture. There won't be anything close or dramatic about this fight, it will be very unlike Duran and Leonard.Sorry.

If anything this fight will look a lot like SRL-Duran 2 with Hatton screaming no mas by the mid to late rounds.

You could also compare Whitaker-Chavez and Duran-Leonard II, and you will get an entirely different perspective. I don't think that really works.

ehhh u really cant considering Hatton fights nothing like Chavez and more like Duran who he has idolized and developed a style as close to Durans as possible...

Second, u cant compare this Duran/Leonard II considering this is Mayweather/Hatton I...

dont get smart with me.

YOU brought up Chavez. Remember Chavez-Camacho?

And it doesn't matter which fight of Leonard-Duran you look at. Does it being the first fight somehow eliminate the other fight from history? Does it somehow make it impossible for us to view the fight going the other way?

And how can Hatton fight NOTHING like Chavez and more like Duran.....but Chavez developed his style as close to Duran as possible? Wouldn't that statement indicate that their styles are simliar??

yea basically.

and i brought up chavez as a comparison to when cotto fought malignaggi. i wasnt comparing hatton to chavez. i compared cotto to chavez.

it matters. again, dont get smart with me. please.

Not relevant.

You were right, you compared Chavez to Cotto. But you also have said that Chavez developed a style as close to possible to Duran. If Hatton fights like Duran, and Chavez developed a style as close to possible to him, then it stands that they fight similarly as well.

Sorry, if you are going to post that we can't compare PBF-Hatton to Duran-Leonard II because its the first fight, then I will certainly be "smart" with you cuz it's bullshit.

A fight's number has nothing to do with comparing the possible outcomes of another fight based on styles. Nothing whatsoever.

the fight definitely won't be Duran/Leonard because Hatton is nowhere near as good as Duran was, and PBF will not trade with Hatton...Leonard fought Duran in a phonebooth at times, and PBF ain't that brave/stupid or however you see it...

Bloody hell. Anybody see Collazo vs Hatton? Jesus. I like Hatton as much as the next guy but Collazo ain't Mayweather and Luis made Hatton look slow and out of place at welterweight.

According to some of the "Hattonsexuals" those 7 pounds completely took away any fighting skills he had ;)

Why on EARTH are people still making the COLLAZO comparison with MAYWEATHER?

For fucks sake.. ones a southpaw and the others orthodox for a start. One slick boxer ISN'T the same as another slick boxer.

Fucking plonkers, honestly.

this was such a goofy fight! :patsch

i can't believe how many people got swept up in this hype. it seems like those of us who kept their heads out of the clouds and looked ahead at this realistically as a ludicrous mismatch and waste of time are/were in the STARK minority. :verysad

of course when i say that now, people (like the poster directly above me actually :yep) have said things such as "you fucking liar!!!" refusing to relent even when confronted with links to threads proving that I (and others) thought this fight was a pointless, worthless circus act long before it happened. :-( it's either ricky fans offended that i'm calling him such a predictably easy walk in the park for mayweather, and pussysore that their susceptibility to Hype Fever got exposed in humiliating fashion - OR - it's mayweather fans mad at me for discrediting his latest "big win" which was really no more than a light sparring session for him. i guess objectivity just doesn't earn you a lot of friends.

Not as good as me - I bet on Mayweather by KO in rounds 8,9 and 10, and lets be honest he could have taken Ricky out in any of those rounds had he not been so cautious. The fight went exactly how I expected it to go, and I got odds of 42-1 :happy :happy :happy

I think this was a fight that should have happend in November of 2004. But hatton chose to sit ringside at Mayweather - Gatti then procedded to fight the undercard upset winner in Carlos Muassa. then i had to hear all the bullshit about Floyd not fighting the best in the division, so I had no problem watching Floyd show a distinct level of class between him and the man many accused him of ducking. that said of course I would have rather watched Mayweather - Cotto that night.

Joe Cortez didn't give a chance so that Hatton could fight the way Duran used to do but I still see a lot of similarities between both Mañitas de Piedra and the Hitman... People, just consider what Cortez would do if Hatton punched flagrantly south of the border like Duran did to Buchanan at the sound of the bell to end the 13th in NYC, 1972 - Hatton wouldn't win by TKO!

word...except for prefering may-cotto. Hatton was unfinished business, I really like both fighters and I want to see Cotto now reign and dominate with mayweather moving on to the promotional side of things.

the flaw in the thinking was that Hatton is not fit to carry Duran's jockstrap.
I predicted TKO 11 so was just out. mayweather hasn't rocked an opponent for long time, never mind knocked them silly. He did that to overrated Ricky.
