How good is this guy?? hes complied a record of sub par guys but Morales is a shell of his former self, hes lost 4 of hes last 5 fights!! he had alot left as little as a year and a half ago in the 2nd Paquiao fight, he fought like a warrior that night but the relentless pressure and power punches got to him, if the Morales of the 2nd Paquiao fight turns up I think he will surely take it against a guy with an average record.
Can anybody give me some links to Diaz fights?? or maybe tell me about him??hes record says hes an average puncher, can he take Morales out??

he isnt that good.
at the time that fight was stopped Santa Cruz was ahead on the score cards
88-83, 88-83, 87-84
he looked like he would win easy until that punch.

Morales is younger, a qaulity guy not like Santa Cruz.
and although Morales lost his last 3 fights look at who he fought.
i picked Morales over Diaz because Diaz is simply not that good.
some think he is but if i was to tell you in his last 5 fights he has
TKO 3 Perez (46-40-4)
Drew with Palyani (11-0)
UD 10 Ortiz (16-8-0) this was a close fight.
UD 12 Favela (11-10-4)
and the fight at the top against Santa Cruz in which well you already saw. he was losing and got lucky late.
Now these guys are not exactly Morales now are they. look at there records.

All I know is that he beat Zab Judah in the Pre-Olympic trials. Other than that mediocre career. But Im guessing he will beat the shot Morales.

I think Morales is too old and has been in too many wars at this point. I know that Diaz is older, but he hasn't had as many wars and is clearly less worn as well as much bigger. Erik just doesn't do it at 135.

We don't know Champs, it's been a year since he was blasted out by Pacquaio nearly and he had no legs then.
He is moving up to 135, a weight not suited for him, Diaz's best weapon here is that he's a windmill fighter and throws a lot of shots. Diaz is not a big puncher but he keeps that workrate up. Diaz has an okay chin, considering that Kendall Holt took 7 rounds to stop him(good hitter at 140) and you know that for a PPV event, this guy will step up his game at least for this showcase.
However, I am too iffy on this fight to really make a cemented pick on either guy, because Diaz is so mediocre and Morales is so shot.
If I had to take one, I'd go with Diaz, but I sure as well wouldn't be overly confident on it because Morales can still land his best jabs and short punches on a wide guy, even though I am not sure what Morales can take.
There are better matches to bet on this weekend....
Try Jean Pascal over Kingsely Ikeke.:good

Try Jean Pascal over Kingsely Ikeke.:goodi thought the easiest pick this week in the tipping was
Cestino Caballero by Stoppage over Lacierva.
i actually picked Ikeke to win over Pascal.

I'll match your Caballero pick, that's an easy one.
Ikeke's too old and inactive, also has a glass chin, I don't think he can box a perfect match for 12 rounds, Pascal hits pretty good.

Diaz isn't in Morales league, but neither is Morales anymore. Diaz isn't anything great but he is solid. The problem isn't what Diaz brings but what Morales does. I think Morales just doesn't have anything left. He looked like he was done during the last Pac fight. I'm sure Pacquaio had a lot to do with that, and Diaz definitly isn't Manny Pacquaio so I don't expect a quick blowout. I actually think Morales will do ok, especially early.
Diaz has fought as a welterweight for part of his career and jr welter for another part. He is going to probably be the biggest guy Morales has ever been in with. Morales hasn't carried his power up with him and has looked sluggish lately so I don't really know what his plan of attack will be.
Diaz will be hungrier, fresher, bigger, and stronger. I think he wins either a late stoppage or a 12 round decision. I'll be pulling for "El Terrible" but I see bad things coming up for the old warrior, hope I'm wrong.

BOGART hit the nail on the head! I just can't manage to predict the outcome! I say too unpredictable....
Pascal is fighting Ikeke? I guess since Echols got shot in the leg. I thought Ikeke has retired. Pascal by TKO or PTS.

Everybody seems to think Diaz wins, this is a pickem fight, I felt like a prime cunt when I watched Gatti lose every round against Gomez the other week, as soon as the 1st round finished I knew what was coming how could I have predicted so wrong. This is a similar situation other than Morales is a league above Gatti of course but in terms of what they used its similar.
the only fight i've seen of David Diaz is when Kendall Holt landed like a 12-piece combo on him and finished him...the stoppage may have been a little quick, but you can't allow yourself to be hit with that many flush powershots...

Holt is a much bigger man than the skinny Morales

This is going to be a touch fight for both fighters. Even with those four straight loses, I think Morales still has the bigger chance of winning this one.

Morales isn't as shot as most people would like to think.

A shot Morales has still enough to beat both Sta Cruz and Diaz.
Morales wins this fight. :yep :good

but I never got to say PRINCESS DIANA WAS A WHORE, and I'm not takin that chance anymore
that actually sounded poetic.
by the way diaz isn't very good.
never seen em, but I got a feeling Morales is gonna pull a Gatti, and I don't want to see that
I hope not. Diaz really shouldn't have that name on his resume. It's one thing to lose to Pacquiao (twice) but not to Diaz. Funny, 'cause I like Diaz, he's from Chicago, but I've seen him fight and he's really just lucky to be in this position.
all I've heard is he beat Zab in the amateurs
true, but not much ever since. Props for knocking out Cruz to become interim champ, but Diaz wasn't expected to win, and lost every round prior to the knockout.
