Hi Bryan. Mate when Luke Maloney pulled out against Heath I put forward Les but now the fight is off completely, you will hear more about it shortly. I was hoping to see you last night it being your neck of the woods and things

Hi Phil, I watched the fight on PPV instead of going along. Not a bad night of fights, The main was a barn burner. Adrian Cairns looks like a bloody gargoyle on TV hahahaha.
I didn't hear that Luke withdrew. We have a fight against Glen Fitzpatrick in Gatton in November so are not looking at anything but that one now.
Will see you at the fights some time soon.

Phil, how is it possible that a fight is ready to start and they can't find the doctor?
I don't think they should bring the fighters out until all the officials are there.

Barge, They might have brought the fighters out but I bet no punches were thrown until all officials were at ringside.

It makes for bad tv and makes the sport look unprofessional. you would never see an AFL match about to start and they can't find the goal umpire.

That is a break down in communications between the promoter's runners and the medico. He was attending to a previous fighter (Powell I think), as is his duty to make sure he is all ok. Bit of a stretch comparing a fight doctor to a goal umpire, all he has to do is stand in goal. Fight docs have a fair bit more on their hands and the ref was on the ball and did not let the fight start until he was present

i can't agree Phil. to only have 1 fight doctor for a whole night of boxing isn't good enough. Boxing will never improve with these unprofessional, laid back attitudes.
If i was showing someone professional boxing for the first time and they saw this happen, i wouldn't expect them to tune in again.
The best solution is to not bring fighters out until all officials are ringside. as soon as the fighters are ready, it can begin. instead of standing around in centre ring getting cold waiting for an official.

didn't say it wasn't barge I am saying it was a breakdown in communications with the guys running the show. I am also saying compare apples to apples your example of a goal umpire did not fit that for mine

the doc was attending to matty powell & its tough enough getting one doctor to a fight, let alone two.
organisation at jamies fights is not a strong point..
