How good a fighter was Palamino?I've never seen him box(except Hedgeman Lewis) but heard he was a great bodypuncher.How good a body puncher was he?

Jack of all trades master of none.

Very solid fighter with bad defence and a great jaw.

a very good bodypuncher. he made stracy scream on the canvas!!

i would call him a great overachiever. he won due to his great chin and bodypunching as well as great conditioning (he really was a marathon runner).
not fast, not great defense, not even a great puncher.

but it took great fighters like benitez and duran to really beat him.

he could take the guys below just the great talents.

by the way: he made a comeback in the late 90´s..........not for money, just for the fun of it.
he won a few easy fights then matched himself against a contender, knowing that he would probably lose but wanted to see how well he could do at age 44 at world level.

he took on then top contender wilfredo rivera, who just came off a title fight with oscar de la hoya.
rivera expected an easy night.........but instead got a real tough fight, getting his eyes cut badly.
but rivera came on late to win a close ud.

palomino had achieved what he wanted and retired. cool guy.
