Where do you rank him among the hardest hitters in the division.
One thing I've liked about Sander's is he doesnt look like a hard puncher, hell he doesn't even look like a boxer, but when that bell rings, LOOK OUT!

Sanders would have been a heavy hitter in any era in history. However I would not put him in the same category as the true all-time great heavyweight punchers, such as Louis, Foreman, Shavers, Tyson, Dempsey, Liston, etc. Not even close.

Need you ask? ;) It's measured in kilotons.

Not sure where I'd rank it. But even if his raw power wasn't the greatest ever, even respectable power coupled with his handspeed would end up being very respectable.

I have read guys who sparred with both Sanders and Tyson said Sanders hit harder.

Yet he couldn't put away the chinny Rahman? Sources forthe harder than Tyson quotes? Sanders hits hard, but does he hit harder than other punchers from this era Maskeev? Tua? They put Rahman away

Rahman himself said Corrie is the hardest puncher he fought.

I wouldn't say he hits as hard as, say Tyson or Tua, but he hits pretty damn hard for sure. He had Rahman down twice before running out of his gas. Tua needed stopped him controversially after more rounds and couldn't put him away over 12 rounds in the rematch. Maskaev did knock him out twice, but also needed more rounds if i remember correct.

Look guys, seriously, Toney couldnt put a dent in Rahman, and Sanders had him down, so if we say a fight is a test of chins, this means SAnders has a better chin than Toney, and Toney has a better chin than Holyfield, who he beat, so Sanders had a better chin than Holyfield. Wlad is probably int he middle of the field somewhere.

I wouldn't rank Sanders' power with elite great punchers'. His only knockout over a heavyweight of serious merit was the Wlad Klitschko fight, which really doesn't qualify him as a legendary puncher, especially considering Wlad's subpar chin by elite standards, and his knockout record is good, but not great, particularly given the heavily-padded nature of most of his career fight record. Undoubtedly he could crack, and formidably so, but I don't think he would have a place in the highest echelon.

Corrie Sanders rates # 1 puncher of all time. He had handspeed of a featherweight to go along with lightning like electrifying power, Sanders was untouchable in his prime. Too much speed power and super southpaw for any fighter in history to handle. A freak of Nature for 6'4 225lb with his style and tools. no one touches corrie head to head

We know who this is, don't we?

Sanders had speed and very good power, which combined with this stance and natural athleticism made him dangerous but certainly not reliably dangerous like multi-faceted fighters of the ilk of Lewis. prime Tyson or Holyfield.

:rofl some of you clowns are hilarious.

Notice how all the Klitsschko fans to a man say he's right up there, and with murderous power. All because he smoked Wlad and hurt and KD'd Vitali in the first.

Look down his record. Sanders had very good hand speed which helped to make his power deceptively good for a funny looking boxer, but no way was he close to the really big heavyweught punchers for power.

in short, his power got way overrated off the back of 1 night in Germany when he spanked Wladmir, whose chin is hardly good.

Tua did not put Rahman away. That was a terrible stoppage.

Tua did not put Rahman away. That was a terrible stoppage.

Agreed. Tua could not do it in the second fight too and was lucky to escape with a draw. Maskaev's first ko of Rahman was helped by Hasim being knocked out of the ring and hitting a typewriter or something with his head. Rahman's eye swelled unnaturally against Holyfield. The only bonafide stoppages of Rahman was by Maskaev in the second fight and by Lennox Lewis also in their second fight.

So much for the casually dismissed "chinny" Hasim Rahman. Poor chap.

He could certainly punch very hard. He never cracked any great chins, and his finishing ability was mediocre in the early part of his career (which is why the Klitschko win was such a shock for me) but his combination of speed and power was pretty fearsome.

Not an ATG puncher, but one of the better punchers of his era.
