klitschko must be crazy. everytime he tells the media that lennox lewis will come back to fight him if the amount of money is huge.

vitali, get it:

YOU LOST!!!!!!!!

you lost to the greatest champion of the last 25 years. be proud it was lennox lewis. you will always be remembered as a tough opponent who showed balls. but you lost, your face looked like a pizza and after the fight you used to tell crap. just stop it!

VK KO3 LL in a rematch

Just kidding. LL is a great down to earth guy who's happy with his lot. One of the few that have got out of boxing without losing all his money, looks and speech.

He has nothing to prove and doesn't need the money.

We'll never see LL in a genuine boxing match again.

Its true. Lennox is 42 years old, not been in a ring for years, not in boxing shape and rich as a bastard, with all his faculties intact. If Lennox ever returned to the ring he would have to be certified insane. There is just no reason for him to whatsoever. I would have liked to see a rematch 6 months after the 1st fight between the two, but not now.

Give him a break. What is he supposed to say?

I beat a whale in Kirk Johnson? I beat a part-time fighter and golfer in Corrie Sanders who hadn't fought in a year? I beat Herbie Hide who went down 55 times against Riddick Bowe?

I was beating Chris Byrd when I lost?

Greatest champion of the last 25 years? Maybe 4th greatest, after Holyfield, Bowe and Tyson (I'm not saying their full careers, only their runs as champion)....

Only one thing: Emanuel Steward admitted publically that Vitali would've won that fight if it wasnt stopped. He did lose. But every main magazine, Larry Merchant and all three judges had Vitali winning this fight. Some lost.

:huh

Lewis' run as champion was much better than Holyfield's and Bowe's.

His reign was much longer than Bowe's and Holyfield's reign, and had more title defenses.

Lewis' reign -Lineal reign- was also better than Tyson's two year/two defenses reign.

So it is accurate to say that Lewis was the best HW Champ of the last 25 years.

2 defenses? I'm not Tyson hugger (I despise that SOB), but during his undisputed reign, he beat Holmes, Spinks, and Bruno as legitimate fights. Lewis beat (and drew with) Holyfield and Bruno. Both had a bunch of lower-tier of the top 10 type opponents. Looking at the top guys there, I'd say all three had stronger reigns. I guess we just look at it differently though. If someone's basing it more on length of reign and sheer number of fighters beaten, or looking at number of ranked guys beaten, then Lewis comes out on top. If you only look at what elite opponents they fought and beat, Lewis comes out on the bottom. Maybe it was because other fighters were ducking, but it is what it is.

A prime Lennox beats prime versions of those fighters 9 times out of 10. Not to mention that he BEAT Holy and Tyson and Bow ran from him like the plague...

If you think Tyson or Holyfield were in their primes when they fought Lewis, you're smoking crack. Lewis probably does beat prime Holyfield more often than not, but prime Holyfield was practically a cruiserweight. Bowe did run from Lewis, no question, but I can't imagine the 1993 version of Lewis beating Bowe anyway. I also think current Wlad would give prime Lewis hell, but it's unquestionable that Lewis' reign was better. Head to head, I don't have a problem with saying prime Lewis would beat those guys more often than not, but the question was whose championship reign was better.

I really don't think that VK would be so hung up on Lewis if Lewis didn't promise him a rematch and then retire to get away

I'm not trying to take anything away from him but Lewis did say he would fight him if Lennox' own doctor cleared vitali for a december fight...he did and then Lewis delayed it till January and then retired...

Lewis was a great champion but the way he ended up retired seemed to be out of charecter considering his great career and I'm sure that left Vitali with a bad tast in his mouth

No doubt about it Lewis is the best of that lot. It is diffacult to accept for most American fans because the sports media hated Lewis and made every effort to discredit him. Lewis beat Bowe Holyfeld and Tyson what else is there to know?

and emanuel steward likes to tell the media lennox was going to lose IF the fight would have gone on NOW, now, because he is paid by klitschko. after the fight he told larry merchant lennox would have knocked ...blah blah blah..

i mean, imagine this:

vitali comes out of retiremnt, beats up mccline, then the wbc-champ and fights lennox in 2008 and he beats lewis. does he really think that would make him the greatest since ali? is vitali really that crazy!?

lennox will stay retired and vitali will have to accept that he was lewis's last victim, a victim that showed heart and told crap after it.

i want lennox to come back for closure..because i feel like he got scared and ran away. You gotta understand, before the fight, lennox said from his own mouth he had about 3 more fights he wanted before retiring.

After the fight with Vitali...he retires...the anger i had when this happened couldnt be measured, lol. It showed me that Vitali showed something that he never saw in a an opponent that made him not want to give him a rematch.

EVERYBODY here knows..wether they're vitali fans or not...he DESERVES a rematch after that performance...he was the first fighter to legitimately give lennox hell without it being a lucky knockout punch...he consistantly hit lennox...he legitimately outboxed lennox....and legitimately made lennox retire, lol.

Keep it funky...u know lennox retired because Vitaly was a puzzle that he felt he wouldnt be able to figure out in a rematch.

The ONLY reason he is considering a rematch NOW is because NOW it would make him so much more money than ever imagined. He's willing to take a L to rob of us of all our money lol

see the facts:

lennox was in for a tough night before he fought vitali. when he fought frank bruno he struggled with brunos jabs and was in for a close show. in round 7 he hit bruno with a big left hook that decided the fight.
ray mercer and lennox had a big battle in the garden and the fight was close but lennox got stronger in the end when mercer got weaker.
there are some fights that show lennox has to find his ryhthm but when he does he always defeated his opponent. man, he defeated everybody!

lennox lewis did not have the fire anymore when he beat tyson. that should have been his last fight and after the fight or even before retirement was an option. lennox lewis achieved everything a great boxer can achieve and he was the best man in the last 25 years, no doubt. vitali is just a belt-holder who gave an old lewis trouble but lost in the end. ali was down against cooper and he won because cooper was cut. it is a legit tko!

Did you actually watch the fight ? yeah vitali was up 4-2 when it was stopped but Lennox was starting to control the fight, was hitting vit with big uppercuts and at the end of the 6th vit was messed up and was holding onto LL for dear life.

See my posts above. (A) Tyson was shot, (B) Holy was well past prime and (C) I already said he could beat them head to head, prime for prime. He just fought weaker opposition, on the whole. Also, he never fought Bowe.
